Dorothy Alice Waller (née Jones)
November 29, 2015
At London Health Sciences Centre, Victoria Hospital, on Sunday, November 29th, 2015, DOROTHY ALICE (née JONES) WALLER, of London (formerly of Palmerston), in her 84th year. Beloved wife of the late George Waller (2008). Proud Mother of Peter (Kathleen), Kathryn (Mike Cull), Kenneth (Karen) and Thomas (Monica). Cherished Grandma and Nana to Shaunacy, Ashley, Quinn, Kelsey, Shelby, Madison, Eilish and Hayden and Great-grandma to Reaghan, Harper and Alice. Dorothy was born and raised in Dunnville to the late Alan and Dorothy (née Ward) Jones. She is survived by her sister, Nina Creighton and brother, Danny Jones. She was proud to have trained as a Registered Nurse at the Toronto Hospital for Sick Children and worked for over 35 years, mostly at the Palmerston and District Hospital, in the Emergency Ward and Operating Room. Dorothy and George moved to Palmerston as newlyweds, intending to spend only one year but remained there, with a huge circle of close friends, for nearly 40 years, retiring to life at the Cottage on the lake, near Kingston. Together, they were both actively involved in their community, always enjoying helping others. We want to thank the Doctors and Nurses at London Health Sciences Centre who assisted Mom with care during her visits, especially the staff at the LRCP and the Oncology Day Unit. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service to celebrate Dorothy’s life will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, Ontario on Saturday, December 5th, 2015. Visitation will be at 4:00 p.m., with a memorial service at 5:00 p.m., followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate your donation on behalf of Dorothy to the London Regional Cancer Program or a charity of your choice.

Thinking of you, Thom, and your family at this time. I recall the stories you shared with me at our work place about your fun summers, growing up and the time at the cottage on Lake Ontario with your mother and family. It was a pleasure hearing you recount these events. These memories will be valuable to all over the next years.
So saddened to return home today from Vacation to learn of your Moms' passing. I have so many happy memories growing up as neighbors and friends. Wish I could have shared in the celebration of your moms' life tomorrow but will be keeping your family in both thoughts and prayers.
My sincere sympathy in the loss of your mother. I have good memories of Dorothy both in Palmerston and at Chelsey Park in London.
