Dorothy Anne Howell

April 19, 2026

Dorothy Anne Howell, age 82, of London, Ontario, passed away peacefully with her husband Jim of 65 years by her side.  She was born in Northumberland, England, the daughter of the late Thomas and Annie Mackie (née Usher).  Adored by her sisters, Susan (Jon), and the late Gwen Steward and husband Sid.  She was a loving mother to daughters Tracey Moore, Amy Reichlin (Joe) and Sarah White (John).  Grandma Do adored her grandchildren, Rob Creasor, Kristal Couper (Chris); Nick, Emma and Will Reichlin; great-grandchildren Ethan, Kaiden, Lily and Emily; and caring aunt to her nieces and nephews. She was loved by many and will be missed by all who knew her.

Dorothy started as a school teacher, then business owner (The Framing Experience), and finished her career as a Real Estate Agent/Broker. She was a devoted member of Unity Church of London and was involved in several social clubs (book, winos and coffee). She especially loved volunteering for Camp Wendake and singing in the Port Stanley Choir. When Dorothy wasn’t busy in her garden, she enjoyed potting, reading, poetry and listening to her “tunes”.  She was happiest when surrounded by music; Elvis, The Beatles and John Denver, to name a few.

Dorothy was an optimist, always finding the silver lining and embracing the flow of life with a “not meant to be,” mentality. She was a nurturing, generous soul and never hesitated to welcome anyone with a hug. She had a smile that lit up a room and a laugh that brought happiness to those around her.  She shared a passion for travel with her husband, Jim, and treated every journey as a new adventure. Together, they moved to Mexico where they built their dream home and lived for eight years.

Jim Howell and family would like to thank the incredible staff at Parkwood Hospital.

A Celebration of Dorothy’s Life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution may be made to Camp Wendake and/or Unity Church of London.
