Dorothy Anne RN Martin (née Myles)

June 18, 2015

Peacefully at University Hospital on Thursday, June 18, 2015, in her 84th year. Reunited with her husband John (2006), teacher and librarian. Loving mother of Chris Martin, Neil Martin and Paul Martin (Sandy); grandma of Josh, Alex and Sarah. Beloved sister of Evelyn Strople, Charles “Chuck” Myles and Donna Hockey. Born May 19, 1932 in Windsor, Ontario to Clara, Registered Nurse at Grace Hospital and Orville Myles, Navy Petty Stoker, lost at sea in WWII. Dorothy was a long term Byron resident with an amazing “green” garden thumb. She was an active choir mother at St. Anne’s Anglican Church and St. Paul’s Cathedral; Canadian Embroiderers’ Guild, London member; and continued to enjoy outdoor activities. Thank you to the loving and caring staff at Richmond Woods, McGarrell Place and University Hospital. The memorial service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Saturday, June 27, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Dorothy are asked to consider the Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex or LHSF – Cancer Program.
