I was sorry to hear of Aunt Marie’s passing. My mind was filled with many fond memories, but one in particular stood out. I remember being quite young and Aunt Marie sleeping with me in my (twin) bed on Christmas Eve. I woke in the middle night because I swore I could hear the reindeer on the roof. I woke her up and told her I could hear them and then I heard Santa bang into the metal chimney cleaning set and I was so convinced I should get up so I could see him. I remember Aunt Marie squeezing me and saying ‘no, no don’t go down because then you won’t get any presents and he’ll leave’. She spent probably a good hour holding me tight, Christmas lights shining around us and convincing me to stay with her tucked in our little bed. I’m sure she was exhausted, but it is a treasured memory. Sending love and warm thoughts to you all. Lindsay, Todd, Jackson and Kennedy Woodburn xo
