Dorothy ‘Merle’ Parish

Passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2018 at Northland Pointe Long Term Care, Port Colborne in her 96^th year. Beloved wife of the late John Parish (2008). Loving mother of Catherine (Byron) McNeil and proud grandmother of Jordan McNeil (Rebecca Robinson). Lovingly remembered by nieces and nephews in Canada, Scotland and U.S.A. Predeceased by her parents, Warren and Jessie Rock of Rock’s Mills; sisters, Marion and Margaret; and brothers-in-law, Fred and Ed. Merle was a dedicated high school teacher who taught in Tillsonburg, Hanover and Sarnia. She had a passion for music and sang in various choirs throughout her life. Merle loved to travel, play sports and was an avid bridge player. Above all else, she was an amazing wife, mother and grandmother. Merle and her family appreciated the excellent care she received from the staff at Northland Pointe in Port Colborne. A funeral service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 1:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment in New Road Cemetery, Norwich on Wednesday November 14, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Merle are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society.
