We are so sorry and shocked to learn of Dr. Albert Carron’s death and we want to express our most sincere sympathies to his family during this difficult time. We appreciate his long- term dedication and enthusiasm brought into the field of sport psychology by his great achievement. His finding in team cohesion and dynamics has brought the field into a new era of research and paved the way for the following investigations. He will be remembered not only for his research and applied expertise, but also for his willingness and passion to share his life with people he has worked with. It would be difficult to measure the impact he has had on many colleagues’, students’, and athletes’ lives professionally and personally. We are very sorry to have lost such a remarkable figure and good friend. Please accept our condolences. With sincere sympathy Gangyan Si, PhD President of International Society of Sport Psychology

My condolences to Bert, he was such a nice, genuine, caring, loving, sensual, passionate man who was always there when i needed someone to pat me on the back ;). He was good at PHyscal eduction and the other good things in life. He was exceptionally handsome, and had the nicest smile a man could ever have. He cherished me as another homosexual man in society and brought me under his wing when I was 8; I was lonely and in need of breaking the sexual tension i have felt for years without a touch of another man. He had such nice hands. And feet. He had this way about him, he would pin me down and f**k my little asshole until I couldn't take it anymore. I would bleed for him. I was his little naughty servant who did anything he demanded. I would mop his semen up off the floor on all fours like a dog cleaning up the masters' scraps. Happily, I have had something to remember his charismatic way of life, his rotting corpse in my basement. His a**hole has deteriorated, but i still go ham on dat bi**h. The way his cold, rock hard a*s feels as i thrust all 4 inches of my pecker inside his rancid colon makes me shiver as I am writing this. The pure bliss is receive from these everlasting sexual moments I can share with his body allows me to forever experience what he showed me when I was only a child. He used to dominate me. Now I abosuleuty destroy his pungent orafices. I guess the Student really does become the Teacher... Kind regards, Dixie xox xxx ;)

Bert was a one of a kind, larger than life, funny, and wonderful person who is greatly missed. I was lucky enough to be an undergraduate student in Bert's classes and since then he has always served as a mentor. His contribution to the profession of sport psychology is vast and he was responsible for inspiring many of us to follow in his footsteps. He leaves a tremendous legacy and serves as a great example to live life well, love your family and friends, and pursue your passion in your career. Thank you Bert!

I want to express my deep sadness for the lost of Bert Carron who contributed so much and so well to the development of sport psychology and who was also a model as a person and as a scholar. I met Bert for the first time in the 80’s in Portugal. I also was honored that he had accepted to be one of the keynote speakers at the 8th ISSP World Congress of Sport Psychology (Lisbon, 1993) which I chaired. We didn’t meet often along all these years, but when that happened he always made me feel such an emotional closeness as if we shared the everyday experiences. I am grateful to life for giving me the opportunity to meet Bert Carron. My deepest condolences to the family. Sidonio Serpa, PhD Past-President - International Society of Sport Psychology (ISSP)

I would like to express my regrets and sympathies to Marcela, Michelle, and the whole family. Bert was a respected colleague and, probably, each of us received something from him. Bert has positively influenced my career and each day, I try to pass on the same values to my students than he did with me (as a foreign colleague not familiar with the English writing). I will miss Bert very much but he will still be present in my mind, my heart, and my work.

~ Jean-Philippe Heuze

My heart goes out to all of Bert's family and close friends. Marcela, my thoughts are with you. I feel so fortunate to have such fond memories of Bert. He was a good friend and mentor. I loved our daily chats while I was at Western. His sense of humour and quick wit always brightened my day. His voice will be forever in the back of my mind when I write. We often joked about our inability to keep up with technology. I will never forget his advice on work/ life balance. Thank you, Bert, for leading the way, for enriching my life, and for making me want to be a better teacher, writer, and researcher.

I will always remember the many great times I had with Bert, sitting around Brett and Katherine's dinner table when he and Marcella visited London. Bert loved to laugh and his laugh filled the room. I have such fond memories of him. I hope your own cherished memories are giving you strength at this very difficult time. My thoughts are with all of you.

Bert was a fabulous colleague, mentor and friend. He really was a pioneer within our field, who managed to bring the best out of others. His contagious wit, enthusiasm, and sheer zest for life will be tremendously missed. My sincere condolences to Marcela and the rest of the Carron clan.

Bert was a valued teacher and mentor in the (then) Faculty of Physical Education when I was an undergrad, and later, a graduate student. He was a larger than life presence before I arrived, and he continued to be for many years after I moved on. He always had a hello and a kind word for me in the hall, and I surely absorbed a few darts about my love of the Toronto Maple Leafs. I am deeply saddened to learn of his passing. He has had a profound impact on his field.

I shall never forget my first research conference presentation in Montreal in the early 1990's. I was nervous, as I was still doing my Master's degree at Queen's. During my conference talk I cracked a small joke about ten-pin bowling in North America and Bert's laughter resounded so much throughout the lecture theatre that I had to stop the presentation for a moment... It was the greatest Canadian welcome! The sport psychology has lost one its greats.

Dearest Wendy and Family Thinking of you in this sad time and sending you prayers.

I first met Dr. Carron when I visited Western in my fourth year of undergrad as I was considering doing my master's in Kin. Bert was the Grad Chair at the time, and even though I was visiting over the Christmas holidays, he set aside the time to meet with me. At approximately the moment that I entered the room, I knew that I would be coming to Western. I was greeted with the biggest smile I'd ever seen, and a loud "Charlotte!!" as Bert came over to shake my hand, as if we'd known each other for years. As we met, he listened to my research interests and made very thoughtful suggestions about what he thought might be my best options. I figured that if all of the profs at Western were half as kind, warm, and wonderful as Bert, I would be lucky to call Western Kin home. I ended up staying there for 8 years, and whenever I saw Bert in the hallway I got the same enthusiastic greeting, and genuine inquiries about how I was doing. Dr. Carron will be missed, and will always be remembered with great fondness.

Wendy, Steve, Anna and family, Our deepest sympathy in the loss of your father & grandfather. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. The Henzy family.

~ Kim Henzy

You contributed to the fabric of my life in so many ways. You were a mentor when I working on my Graduate Thesis when I was not your student. You were an adversary on the Paddle Ball Court when we had the physical ability in our younger days. You were one of the bright financial minds (joke) in our House of Cards Investment Club. You were a friend both at Western and outside of Western and I am forever grateful. To Marcela and the whole Carron family, I say Thank You and I share in your loss.

~ Garry Lapenskie
