Garnet was a great mentor and friend. He hired me into the South Huron Veterinary Clinic practice in Zurich in 1967 after I graduated from O.V.C. Meals were often shared as well as lots of conversation. Lois and I first lived in his house in Zurich until 1973 when we moved to larger living quarters and he moved into his house. He loved his family very much and we send our sympathy to his daughter Calla and to Grace and to all the Leitch clan.May many memories of the times you shared with Garnet give you comfort. He had such a rich life because of you. Sincerely Dr.Douglas Thiel and Lois.
Dear Grace and Calla, I am so sorry to hear of Garnet's passing....I have such fond memories of his gentleness, his smiles, his ever ready camera for the "family" Thanksgiving photos on Hinch's front lawn. Sweet memories of a sweet man. Hold them close. Peace.
We are privileged to have had Garnet as a friend and be a customer of his. He had a special way with large animals and exhibited talent even with a lasso. Our telephone conversations and occasional lunches were full of reminiscing.. His paintings are in our home and his art work was part of his contribution to the Hay township history book. We send our condolences and are grateful for our memories of Garnet.
Our condolences to Garnet's family. Garnet was a gentleman. We always looked for Garnet when attending anniversary at Burns Mosa. My father, Edwin, proudly displayed Garnet's artwork of sites around Kilmartin and Walkers on the wall of his den. We will remember Garnet each time that we look at these pictures.
I extend my sympathy to the family that were part of the life of Garnet. Many farmers and fellow veterinarians will remember Garnet. We are certainly glad that Garnet was able to to live such a long and useful life. I am sad that I won't be able to sit down and have a conversation with Garnet, like informer times at some of our gatherings. I respected his foresight. Dr Don Atkinson, Kirkton

It feels like the end of an era. Garnet was one of the few remaining relatives that I remember from family reunions at our cottage or his parent's farm. I always wanted to be a vet like my Dad's cousin Garnet. He was a patient caring man. He loved family history, and seemed to know everyone related. He loved the Leitch clan. He was one of a kind.
