Peacefully passed away on Monday, April 26, 2021, at peopleCare Oakcrossing Long Term Care in London, Ontario, at the age of 93. From his birth on March 14, 1928, to his early years in Orillia and Barrie, and his passing in London on Monday, Ted lifted the spirits of those around him through his faith, positivity, friendly humour, and cheerful songs. He was born in Orillia to Edward Joseph and Mary (Sullivan) and was the youngest of six children. It was Ted’s dancing skills and lovely singing voice that first attracted Jeannette Caruso to him when they met at a dance in 1950. Ted and Jeannette married on October 13, 1952. Ted and Jeannette were active in their faith, first at St. Mary’s Parish in Barrie and later for over five decades at Holy Family Parish in London, where they are blessed with so many loving friends. Ted served in the Knights of Columbus, Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, and was a familiar and gracious usher at Holy Family Parish church. He loved watching Jeannette sing with the choir. Ted received the honours of the Fourth Degree of the Knights of Columbus in an exemplification honouring Most Rev. Ronald Peter Fabbro on June 2, 2012. In the community, Ted was a minor hockey coach with Oakridge Optimist house league and a friend to everyone he met in his Oakridge Acres neighbourhood and at Lake Nosbonsing where family and friends gathered to celebrate with much joy, love, and spaghetti Left to honour Ted and remember his love, is his dear wife of 69 years, Jeannette (Caruso); children: Donna (late Michael Oliver), James, Patrick (Anita), and Daniel (Susan); seven grandchildren: Sean, Michael, Sarah, Adam, Stephanie, David, and Aidan; two great-grandchildren: Mackenzie and Griffin; and many most dear nieces and nephews. Ted was preceded in death by his parents whom he lost when he was just a boy himself, his sisters and brothers, and his beloved son, Stephen (Lucy). Ted will be remembered for his kindness and humility in the parishes and communities he served.
A private visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 28, 2021, at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. A private Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 29, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. A livestream of the service will also be provided for those wishing to view remotely.

Uncle Ted was such a bright light and an even brighter personality. He was the kind of person who light up the room and made everyone feel welcome and loved. The world is a better place because of people like him. My condolences for your loss.
Sincere condolences on the loss of a great man- one of a kind. I remember Ted, always upbeat, greeting me with his Irish accent and hospitality. His most notable Christmas achievement, which we often laughed with him about, was when he cut the top half of a Spruce down the path behind the Motorcycle Gang Clubhouse and dragged it home and was decorated all within 2 hours. When our kids were young, they referred to Ted as Mr. Magoo ( movie ) for his joking nature and similarity to Leslie Nielsen. Mike and Theresa Hope and family
JEANNETTE Grateful for friendship shared with you & Ted. We had a lot of fun together. I remember a recent time you & Ted were trying to rake up a huge pile of leaves, ran out of energy, retreated to lawn chairs & laughed your heads off. So cute.....still had fun. RIP dear Ted
The Corcoran Family You are utmost in our thoughts as you grieve the loss of your dad, father-in-law and grandpa. His love lives on in your hearts. Many good memories are locked there. Ted treasured his family & we know the feeling is mutual What a beautiful legacy he leaves you.
Mrs. Corcoran, I am saddened to learn of Ted's passing from this life, but I am also encouraged to know of his faith and the love he always expressed for you, his children, and all the friends that visited your house. So sorry to learn of Mr Corcoran's passing , I recall so vividly the laughter and love that was front and centre of every gathering that involved the Corcoran's and the McGrath's , the greatest of friends to my Parents and in my own case, it was a true honour to have Mr and Mrs Corcoran as my God Parents . God Bless you All !!!

my deepest condolence to the Corcoran family. Even though I did not have a chance to talk to him for several years, I remember his joyful conversations and love for his family.

Always very fond feelings for Uncle Ted! Loved his joie de vivre. My favourite uncle for sure. He was so much a part of my parents lives and ours. When he was living in Barrie, how delicious it would be to go over to their house for some real Italian cooking from our wonderful Aunt Jeanette. So sad that we can't be there in person to honour him. To my cousins Jamie, Donna, Patrick, and Dan, know that my heartfelt thoughts are with you. To Aunt Jeanette, there are no adequate words, but know that I love you and will be keeping you in my heart.

Dear Jeanette & Family. So sorry to hear of Ted's passing..He was a great guy.Always enjoyed talking to Ted. Bill's memory comes & goes but he remembers a story Ted told him. To avoid the ticket taker Ted & friend used to sneak onto the train & hide in the washroom. Don't know where they were going. He had lots of stories. He will be missed. Keeping you in our prayers.

So sorry to hear of the passing of Uncle Ted. He was definitely the favourite uncle and always added a humorous component to the family reunions. I liked hearing the mischievous stories from his youth which to a lighter extent he carried on into adulthood. To Aunt Jeanette and my cousins, we are sending you virtual hugs that we will hopefully substitute with real ones this summer. He will be missed by many.
