Peacefully, on Thursday, September 24, 2026, Eileen Ida Rachar of London passed away in her 91st year. Beloved wife of the late Ross Rachar (1986). Proud mother of Paul Rachar (Reine), Eric Rachar, Sharon Rachar (Jack). She will be forever missed by her grandchildren, Matthew, Emily, and Jordan, and her great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter, Denise Rachar. She will be missed by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.
Eileen lived a long and beautiful life filled with love, family, and countless memories. She had a special way of making those around her feel welcomed and cared for, and her presence touched so many lives.
Family meant so much to Eileen. She especially cherished the little ones in her life, and there was nothing quite like seeing her eyes light up when the children came to visit. Those precious lunches, visits, conversations, smiles, and moments together will be treasured forever.
Eileen will be remembered for the love she gave, the memories she created, and the special place she held in the hearts of those fortunate enough to know her.
Although saying goodbye after 90 years of life is never easy, we are grateful for the years we were blessed to have her. Her love and memory will continue to live on through her family and anyone whose life she touched.
Rest peacefully, Eileen.
You were deeply loved, and you will be missed.

A funeral service will be conducted at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday, October 2, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. followed by interment at Mount Pleasant Cemetery.

I'm saddened to hear of Aunt Eileen's passing. Coincidentally, when I received the news I was using a blanket she had knitted for us as a wedding gift. One of my memories as a young child is of her husband, my great uncle Ross' stubble at Emil & Frieda's Christmas party. It seemed even scratchier than my Grandpa Brock's. The last time I saw her was just a few years ago at a family gathering, where we got to spend some time chatting over dinner. She was a pip, never shy about sharing what she thought. She'll be missed.

I have fond childhood memories of my Aunt Eileen's delicious cooking and baking. When I had my own children, Aunt Eileen knit so many beautiful colourful baby outfits and blankets, to keep them warm and comfortable. John and I recall times when she came to Guelph, to babysit our young children. I remember visiting my aunt later at her house, meeting her beloved cat and admiring her well-tended flowering gardens.
