A beautiful, precious soul was called home to be with her Lord and Saviour on Saturday, August 22, 2020. Elizabeth was born July 4, 1937 in London, Ontario to the late William Miles and Marjorie Smart. Beloved and cherished mother of Katie James (Dan Corley), of Brockville. Mother of Bill Green (Charlene), of Windsor, and loving stepmother of Christine Taylor (Rob) and Pierrette Whitman (Don). Also survived by sisters Dolores MacKinnon, Elaine Thomson (Joe), Susan Murray (Ron), and by sister-in-law, Jean. Grandmother of Joshua, Zachary and Jacob Hitsman, Alexander Calcutt, Kristofer James, Jason Green (Sophie), Michelle Green, and great-grandmother of Kane. She also leaves behind many adored nieces and nephews; she had a very special place in her heart for her nieces Anita and Theresa. Elizabeth was predeceased by two daughters, her eldest MaryEllen and her youngest Linda; son-in-law, Lyle; brothers: Bill, Jack, Fred and Pat; brother-in-law, Perc; sisters-in-law: Margaret, Bernice and Margaret Jane; and her former husband, Peter Bruegger. Elizabeth was fortunate to have lived with her sister Dolores for several years. Dolores graciously cared for her in every way possible, especially as Elizabeth’s health was declining. For this we will be forever grateful. Elizabeth will be deeply missed by all who knew her. She touched the lives of many people. A funeral service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. Rev. Michael Lee officiating. Registration is required to attend the visitation/service.

Please be aware that COVID-19 protocols are in place which may preclude some from being able to attend and masks are mandatory. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Elizabeth are asked to consider RidgeView Community Church or a charity of your choice.

To Katie and Billy and family - You are in our thoughts and prayers at this time. Aunt Elizabeth was a wonderful Aunt. Her heart was made of solid gold and she was so talented and giving and always sent a word of encouragement at just the right time. My prayer is that the winds of heaven will blow softly and whisper in her ear and tell her how much we loved her and will always miss her down here. Love Marjorie & Casey

Dear Katie (Kathy), Bill and Families: I was so saddened to hear of your Mother's passing. She was a wonderful aunt and brought joy to every life she touched. I will miss her lust for life and bountiful affection. May she dwell in the care of God's love. My heart goes out to both you and your families during this tragic time.
