Emanuel ‘Mannie’ Joseph Matheson

With family by his side, at Victoria Hospital, London, on Monday, August 4th, 2014, at the age of 84.  Beloved husband of the late Vivian Matheson.  Loving father of Dale (Ken) Amey, Sandra (Ed) MacDonald and Nancy Matheson.  Dear Grandfather of Christopher (Stephanie), Jason (Kim), Daryl (Becky), and Dan (Stephanie), and great grandfather of Brayden, Colter, Brielle, Walker, Taylor and Logan.  The memorial and RCR service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Wednesday, August 6th, 2014 at 4:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior.  Inurnment of ashes at St. Peter’s Cemetery on Thursday, August 7th, 2014 at 10:00 a.m.  We are very grateful to the Palliative Care Team at Victoria Hospital for their care of Mannie and a special thanks to Dr. Lincoln Lam.  In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a memorial donation are asked to consider the London Regional Cancer Program.

Dear Dale, Nancy and Sandra, I was very sorry to read that Manny passed away yesterday. I have not seen him in many years but enjoyed keeping in touch with him and sharing stories about his mother, Grandma Power and his time growing up in Glace Bay. Please know that his family here in Cape Breton share your lost and will keep Manny and yourselves in out thoughts and prayers. So bitter sweet to see the day had come for God to send his angels down and fly your Dad up to heaven. He was a great friend to my Father and the two of them together were quite the pair.
