Erin Driscoll-Davies

November 28, 2019

Our caring, intelligent, beautiful Erin Driscoll-Davies died suddenly and unexpectedly on Thursday, November 28, at the age of 19.

Erin is loved endlessly by her mom and dad, Marsha Driscoll and Greg Davies; her big sister, Sydney Driscoll-Davies (Harry); her grandparents, “Grandma Who Cooks” Mariam Davies, “Grandma Who Reads” Sharon Driscoll, “Poppa” Richard Driscoll, “Australian Grandma” Glenda Byrnes, and Grandpa Jerry Davies, who predeceased her.

She is survived by aunts and uncles Cary (Robyn), Brad (Jan), Mike (Anita), Steve (Violaine), Zac (Ellen), and Josh; her cousins Ashley (Jonathan & Emelyn, their daughter), Rachel (Eric), Alex, Sean, Rory, Chelsea, Brianne (Mia, her daughter), Arman, Ronan, Shawheen, Olivia, and Camino; great aunts and uncles; second cousins and more.

Erin made lasting impressions and formed amazing friendships from within her neighbourhood, Oxbow Public School, Medway High School, Brock University, Shadowlane Stables, Sari Therapeutic Riding, Centauri Arts Camp, and everywhere else she went.

Erin was excelling in her second year of her Concurrent Education Program at Brock University when she was taken from us. Erin’s passion for teaching, and life-long commitment to working with children, was an inspiration to everyone who knew her. She had a vivid imagination, a caring heart, a dramatic personality, an empathetic nature, and an unending joy of discovery. She was a gift.

A drop-in Celebration of Erin’s Life will take place from 4 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, December 3, at MUSEUM LONDON, 421 Ridout Street North, in downtown London, Ontario. Please join us as we share in remembrance of Erin among those who loved her.

A tribute fund has been set up in Erin’s name to support the needs of children involved in therapeutic horseback riding, and to support youth with a passion for education. For people who wish to donate, please visit >https://www.lcf.on.ca/fundpages/2019/12/2/erin-driscoll-davies-tribute-fund. I am so sorry to hear of Erin's passing- I cannot begin to understand anything you are feeling. Erin was truly a pleasure to know and work with at Shadowlane stables- I still remember her days of riding Sabrina and her excitement when Frost arrived! She was a very bright, caring, compassionate young lady who would do anything to help anyone. She brought joy to everyone she met and I will miss her dearly. She was a true wonder and all around extraordinary young lady! My thought are with your family and Erin's friends during this ever so difficult time

Erin volunteered in my grade â…” class at Westdale P.S. for the past month. Despite the short time that I was fortunate to meet and chat with Erin she had a positive impact in our classroom. The children and I appreciated her happy, friendly and gentle disposition. Her smile lit up our room. Her patience and attentiveness to the children was felt by them and they anticipated her arrival each week. She already possessed the characteristics of an effective and nurturing educator. She will be missed. My heart-felt condolences to you. May your loving memories of Erin help to support you at this time.

~ Kyla Koppejan

I had the great pleasure of teaching Erin at Oxbow. I want to express my deepest condolences to the family at this tragic news. I can't add any words that have not been said regarding Erin. She was a gift. I lost my son Casey three years ago at age 28 so I have some understanding of the darkness. I can only hope that with time the darkness will lift and you will cling to the wonderful memories of your daughter and sister. In her short time, Erin obviously made a tremendous impact on all who met her.

Erin, you have always brought love and fun to our gatherings. Even though you were a big girl, still would sit in your dad's lap and snuggle! Only a girl so happy and sure of herself can do that. I am so glad you were born to parents like Marsha and Greg and big sister Sydney. People who loved and supported your sense of originality and adventure. You were so great with animals and even trained a cat to jump obstacles ! ORIGINAl! You knew what you wanted and gently and lovingly demanded it. It was always easy to talk to you because you were not judgmental but a listener and a friend. Your life was so full of different achievements as if you knew you need to jam a lot in a short time, all with a smile. Your beautiful smile can never be erased from our minds and hearts. Thank you for being so wonderful: caring, loving, fun and original.

~ Anita
