Ernest George Bracey
December 20, 2018
Peacefully with family by his side, at University Hospital, on Thursday, December 20, 2018, George of London, in his 93rd year. Beloved husband of Marjorie. Loving father of Kathy Caine (Ross), Joan Crozier (Tom), Sue Eveleigh, Peter Bracey, and step-father of Cathy Simpson and Judy Slater. Adored grandfather of 6 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by siblings Kathleen (Kay) Vanderburg and Alice Bracey. George was a World War II veteran. He was a dedicated member of congregation at the Byron Community Church. His kindness shone through in everything he did; he gave much of his time volunteering for children with cerebral palsy. George was tremendously gifted with his hands, spending his life building homes both big and small; miniature doll houses were his specialty. Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 27, 2018 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where a funeral service will be conducted on Friday, December 28, 2018 at 2:30 p.m. Interment at Woodland Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of George are asked to consider The Salvation Army or the Canadian Red Cross.

Please accept my condolences with the loss of George. Although I have not seen George in some time, I have a lot of amusing memories of him when he would come to the farm when I was a young lad.
My father knew George and now I understand that his wife Marjorie Bracey has died on the 16th of April 2021. Could not find an obituary for her but I assume she was laid to rest next to him. If you have any information on Marjorie Bracey obituary please contact me at e.c.cuthbert@gmail.com. Thank you.

Dad at the time of your death I was 64 and I will always remember my 16th birthday when you took me out on what you called my 1st date. We went out for dinner at The Town and Country Restaurant in Toronto and you gave me a taste of lobster and then we went to see a movie of my choice. You did not like musicals but I really wanted to see The Sound of Music playing at The Uptown in Toronto, you sat through it and really enjoyed it. It was the best birthday I could have asked for. Your loving Daughter Joan
