Eva Maria Mate, 87, of London, Ontario, passed away on Monday, August 3, 2026 at Mount Hope Centre for Long Term Care in London. Eva was predeceased by her husband, Leslie Czencz and her son, Gregory Mate. Eva is survived by her sister, Agota Tenk, and her grandchild, Heather “Piper” Mate (Emma). Also grieving her loss is her niece, Stephanie Bowes and children Josh and Allison (Gerald Ellison); niece Christine (Mike) and child Bodhi Sedlak; nephew Paul Tenk (Kim Finn); nephew Jeff (Brianne) and children Griffin and Poppy Tenk; and nephew Marty Tenk (Liz Gogol).
Eva was a strong woman who was very loved by her family. She gave everything she had and more to those she loved, and will forever be in our hearts.
A funeral service for Eva will be held at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. The interment will follow at 11:00 a.m. at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London.
