Passed away peacefully at LHSC – University Hospital on Monday, October 22, 2018. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Ward Hackett. Loving mother of Ruth Sharpe (John) of Waterdown, Ontario, and David (Mandy) of Bramley, Surrey, England. Also survived by her grandchildren Zoë, Erin and Rory. For the past several years, Jean enjoyed her life at Riverside Retirement Residence, and made many friends during her time there. The family wishes to thank the staff for making these years happy and comfortable. Thanks especially to dear friends, Wendy and Christa, for their very special care and compassion. Cremation has taken place. At Jean’s request, there is no service taking place. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jean are asked to consider the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or Mission Services of London.

Jean was a sweetheart!!! I enjoyed having her in my choir as well as Gord.. So sorry to hear this news... Well done good and faithful servant! Blessings Neila.. former choir director and friend

We are saddened to learn of Jean's passing but are comforted by the fact that she was ready to go! She will be reunited with her husband Gordon and likely Sadie and Alec will be waiting to welcome her as well. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family, whom Jean loved very much!
