Frances ‘Annette’ (née Greenly) Thompson

Passed away peacefully at home, on Friday, February 5, 2021. Beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother – everyone called her ‘Gram’. Devoted “Akela” with the 32nd Cub Scouts, she was the Wolf Pack leader for hundreds of local kids. She enjoyed countless summers at Kettle Point with family, friends, and dogs (especially her faithful companion, Buddy). We will miss hearing stories about Camp Artaban and friends from the London Gilwellians over crosswords and contentious games of Scrabble.

I will miss Annette for her kindness that she always showed to me. And I will miss our visits and chats - we had so many over the years. Recently we would recount fond memories of the Scouting years and Camp Arteban and growing up in Hamilton. Since the loss of Greg or "Gregor" as she lovingly called him, we often talked about faith and Heaven and how he was waiting there for her. How joyful that reunion must have been! RIP Gram; no more burdens, no more worries. John 3:16, Psalm 145:13-19
My condolences to the Thompson family. Gram was such a sweet lady. I have so many fond memories of your family being at the cottage and always looked forward to the weeks that you were going to be there for your holidays. Im so glad we were cottage neighbours growing up. There would always be music playing, dogs howling at the campfire, laughter and the sound of gram ringing the bell when it was supper time. I think she enjoyed all the excitement of having people around but also the time when everyone would go to the beach for a few hours. There she would be on the porch enjoying her puzzles, knitting or reading a book. I remember her sitting at the table playing scrabble or board games with the me and her grand kids, looking after the dogs and of course her laugh. Annette and my grandma had many wonderful visits during that time and kept in contact through out the years with Xmas cards. She seemed like she was a mom and grandma to not only her sons and grandchildren's but all of their friends too! She will be greatly missed by so many. I hope all the wonderful memories that she was a part of will comfort you always xo

My condolances to the family. She was a good friend of mine for almost 40 years. Scouting was her life. She made a big difference in many lives. Gone home.
