Frances Cecilia (nee Langen) Finnigan
October 14, 2016
Quietly at McGarrell Place on Friday, October 14th, 2016 in her 97th year. Predeceased by her husband Frederick (1988), son Gerald (2010) and six siblings. Lovingly remembered by her son Brian (Karen), John (Patricia), daughter-in-law Colleen, eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and many extended family in Canada and the United States. A New Brunswick girl who came to London in 1944 to marry her Air Force sweetheart. She was a bright, classy and articulate lady who loved the news, doing crosswords and spending time with her family. Mom was a faith filled woman who was active in St. Patrick, St. Joseph and Holy Family Parishes for many years. Fran was a 45 year cancer survivor and enjoyed good health well into her 90’s, participating for 20 years in exercise programs at Cherryhill Mall, walking regularly and enjoying outings to theatrical performances in Stratford and throughout Southern Ontario. Many thanks to the wonderful staff at McGarrell Place in London for the supportive and loving care shown to our Mom over the past two years. Also thank you to Margaret Glover and the exercise group at Cherryhill Mall for enriching Mom’s life so much with activity and friendship. Thank you to Westview Funeral Chapel and Holy Family Parish for your support in making funeral arrangements. Cremation has taken place. Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 777 Valetta Street, London, on Tuesday, October 18th, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., followed by a reception in the parish hall. Interment at St. Peter’s Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the London Regional Cancer Program or Alzheimer Society London and Middlesex would be much appreciated.
