We met Fran when our son Zach went to Byron Woods Montessori. She was so friendly, kind and an amazing teacher. My son loved her. She had a wonderful way with the children, making them feel comfortable and loved. She was his first teacher how lucky he was to have had her. Rest in peace Ms Machedo.

I first met Fran at our daughters' dance class. We hiked, snowshoed, visited art galleries, and had fun wonderful conversations. She was always smiling, and always kind and thoughtful. My deep condolences to her family.

I will always remember the fun times my children and I spent with Fran, Meaghan and Zac. The Mahadeos lived just two doors away from us while our children were young. I remember little plays the kids entertained us with, several camping trips, and lots of walks to Thames Park for swimming. Fran was such a generous friend. She helped me rekindle a love of reading, and encouraged me to try new recipes. Sending hugs to Meaghan and Zac. Rest in peace Fran.

Dear Meaghan and Zach, I’m sorry you have lost your mom. I admire her for her strength, perseverance, and resilience. I will remember how much she loved Christmas and her family. Meaghan’s giant Christmas trees will always remind me of her.

We are Meaghan’s in-laws and Trevor’s parents. We remember her as a great hostess and wonderful cook when she welcomed us into her home for Christmas with the family in 2008. Despite her illness she enjoyed many outdoor excursions with us in the Ottawa area. We admired her courage through a difficult time. Rest in peace, Fran!

Our thoughts are with you Meaghan and Zach. Fran was a huge part of our lives for many years. She was the most wonderful second mother really to the kids. I am so sad to hear of her death and the unbearable loss for both of you. I wish I was in Ontario to attend her celebration and add some wonderful memories of our time with her. Sending love to you both.
