The family of Frances Ruth Laforge (Tilt) would like to announce the passing of our wife, mom and nanna. Entering her 86th year, Frances left our physical world with her greatest achievements surrounding her bedside, holding her hands.
Survived by her husband Arthur Laforge, together they shared 66 incredible years of marriage. At 16 years old she held his arm for the first time and never let it go. That love and connection created a family, a legacy. Oldest daughter, Merina Ireland and her three daughters, Laura (Chris), CJ (Josh) and Victoria (Greg), her birthday girl. Noonie spent countless trips to the mall with her mom, searching for that perfect outfit that apparently never existed. Time is all we have, and that, they spent together. Daughter Lynn Laforge-Tieman (predeceased) and her daughter Alison (Jonathan) and son James. Lynny and her mom had a special bond that included mainly blankets and naps. Losing Lynny nearly broke her, but she found her joy and surrounded herself with her family, making the hole in her heart survivable.
Daughter Jane Laforge, husband Gerry Stemmler and their two sons, Alec (Chelsea) and Dylan. Sticky, Janey was lucky enough to have an incredibly close connection with her mom. Daily calls and visits were the norm, Janey could convince her mom to do just about anything, including wearing face paint to a Colts NFL game. The bond that she had with Dylan and Alec was exceptional and beautiful.
Son Michael Laforge and his wife Susan. Her boy, her son, she was incredibly proud and enamoured by him always. His humour and ability to make her laugh was unmatched. Mike was very much the missing piece to her perfect view in life. He completed her picture.
Nana to four great-grandchildren, Lexi, Elliot, Griffin and Marley, these four kept her young.
A full and abundant life, Fran was born and raised in Northern Ontario, moving to Brantford, Ontario and eventually on to London, Ontario, where so much of her family joined her.
She spent many winters in Florida, traveled the world and always looked forward to the multitude of family gatherings. She smoked a cigar in the Caribbean, golfed in the Arabian desert and split every dinner she ever ordered. She was the best friend to her children, loved every puppy she ever knew and lived for every second she could spend with family.
This family will never be the same, we will miss you incredibly.

I was shocked and saddened that Fran and I did not have a last chat. She was my neighbor for the past five years. We shared the same birth-date and with our updated laws we talked about sitting on her patio next July 1 just having a little toke. How she laughed. I will cherish her memory always.
I was so sad to hear about the passing of your mother Mike. I know I only met her a few times, but what a warm and genuine person she seemed to be. Please relay my condolences to the rest of your family.

Art & family, I am so sorry to learn of your loss. I remember all the fun times we had golfing and am sorry we didn't get more. Fran was truly a lovely lady and always had a smile. My sincere condolences on your loss.

People expect you to be okay after about a week or two. Once the shock of the funeral wears off, people will slowly start to forget about your pain and expect you to be normal again. It's okay to avoid people for a little while. It's okay to still be grieving. Sometimes people are so focused on themselves, they forget how to be a real friend.
