Francika (Frances) Kuzmanovich

With her family by her side, Francika (Frances) Kuzmanovich, affectionately known as “Baba” to many, peacefully passed away in her 99^th year at Dearness Home in London, Ontario, on Wednesday, September 23, 2026. Beloved wife of the late Momir Kuzmanovich. Deeply loved mother of Milan (Mike) Kuzmanovich (Nicole) and Angie Cvetkovic (Vlado). Devoted grandmother to David Kuzmanovich (Janine), Dusko Cvetkovic (Michelle), Gordana Rojas (Miguel), and Natalie Kuzmanovich (Jeremy). Proud great-grandmother to Sasha, Danica, Eloise, Holden, Adrijana, Pearce, Nikola, and Decker. Dear sister of Mila Lesniewicz and Rosca Volcjak, and the late Maria Delic. Lovingly remembered by her Windsor family as “Cici.”

Born on May 4^th, 1928, in Dolenja Vas, Slovenia, daughter of the late Mikael and Rosa Lesnika. Frances lived a remarkable life, one filled with courage, resilience, love, family and adventure. She survived the hardships of World War II while working as a nurse, then made the courageous boat journey to Canada in 1948, arriving in New Brunswick and beginning a new chapter in her life.

Her family then settled in Windsor, where she became the proud owner of Kuzman’s Market. In 1985, she moved to London, where she devoted herself to raising and caring for the many children who knew her as “Baba.” In London, she tended her garden, where she spent countless hours and developed a well-known green thumb throughout her neighbourhood.

Frances was deeply loved and cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. She was a best friend, a beloved daughter, devoted mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, as well as a caring nurse and proud business owner. She gave so much of herself to the people around her and touched countless lives through her kindness, strength, generosity and love.

She lived life to the fullest, finding joy not only in the big moments, but in life’s simple pleasures, like sharing a brandy with her loved ones. She had a way of making people feel loved, welcome, and cared for, and her presence brought comfort to those around her.

Above all, she treasured her family and the people she loved. Her stories, laughter, and memories will remain a part of all of us who were fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a legacy of love that will continue through all who loved her. She will be profoundly missed, but forever cherished.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, September 28, 2026, at Westview Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at St. Sava Serbian Orthodox Church, 5567 Wonderland Road South, London, on Tuesday, September 29, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. Lunch at St. Sava Cultural Centre will follow the interment at Woodland Cemetery.
