Peacefully on Thursday July 18, 2019, we lost our beloved husband, father, Papa, and friend. Frank and his wife Linn were happily married for 54 years. Frank was very proud of his sons Rain and Jay, and his little grandson Nicholas. Frank will be missed by Louise (Rain’s Fiancé), Cookie his faithful dog and dear friends. It is our sincere hope that Frank “Sparky” will be remembered for his many years of coaching and teaching. Predeceased by his parents, Clara and Dr. Louis Loftus, his brother Bill and sister Mary. Survived by his sister Carole Loft. Special thanks to the Palliative Care staff on the 9th and 10th floors at University Hospital. The family is very grateful for the care Frank received from nurse German Ortiz of Saint Elizabeth Health Care, and PSWs. Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Frank’s Life will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at 12:00 p.m., with visitation two hours prior. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation are asked to consider The Optimist Club of Oakridge Acres to help support youth sport in Frank’s memory or St. Joseph’s Hospice.

Rest in Peace coach You taught us a lot about sports and life. I am a better person for having known you. Fullback Wheable Warriors 1967-1971.
I was coached by Mr. Loftus when I attended Wheable from 1980 to 1982, he was a great teacher & coach. I recall the amazing shape he was in those years and would often see him come in after a long run! Gods Speed Mr. Loftus!
My condolences to the friends and family of Frank. He was my coach at Wheable and then my boss at Auto's Cheers a few years after that. Great guy and a great community builder. See you when the final whistle blows, coach!
Dear Linn and family, I am saddened to hear of the death of Frank. Please accept my deep sympathies in his loss. He was a good man who positively impacted so many lives. We thank God for him, and promise to hold him and you in prayer. May he Rest In Peace! Fr. Bob
Dear Linn, Jay and Rain... our prayers are with you for strength and peace.. My dad (Don Kenny) was one of Franks long time, life-long friends. He was so very sad to hear of Frank's passing (and cried) Frank was dad's best man at his wedding to my mom (Madeline). Their adventures together at Autos always live large in my dad's heart. And it actually was Frank who convinced my dad to go back to school and pursue teaching, for which our family will forever be grateful (2 of us also became phys-ed teachers, like him). My condolences to hear of Coach's passing. He coached my junior football at Montcalm SS and helped lead us to the championship game which we won at JW Little Stadium. Aside from teaching us the game, he taught us all life lessons and helped us to become the men we are today. He will be missed and I would like to send all of his family my sincerest condolences and may he rest in peace. Until we meet again coach.

Frank was my high school Football Coach at GA Wheable Secondary School in the 1960s, and my fellow Football Coach at Wheable when I returned there as a teacher in the late 1970s. We teamed up again at Montcalm Secondary School where we took a Junior Boy's Football team to the City Final. More importantly, Frank was my long-time friend and one-time mentor. Those who knew Frank appreciated his self-deprecating sense of humour and loyalty to his acquaintances. Coach, I will miss you. Thanks for being part of my life's journey. RIP. Rick Young
