Passed peacefully at University Hospital on Friday, July 7th, 2017, in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Jean (née Hughes) for nearly 65 years. Cherished father of Dianne, Grant (Vickey) and Kelley Gonyou (Tom). Proud Grandpa of Tara (Jeff Amaral), Meghan Ditto (Tony); Alexandra Murray (Justin), Kyle and Gage Gonyou; Katie, Jim and Jillian Leatherland; and Great-Grandpa of Cole. Dear brother of Roy (May) and the late Jim McComb (Jackie), and brother-in-law of Leona Hughes and Clifford Ritchie. Alex had a passion for farming and was a former director of the Egg Farmers of Ontario and also held positions with other farm-related organizations. He was a proud member of the Tri-County Heritage Club and an active member of Riverside United Church. Visitation will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Tuesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The funeral will be conducted at RIVERSIDE UNITED CHURCH, 695 Riverside Drive, London on Wednesday, July 12th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with visitation at the church one hour prior to the service. Private family interment at Siloam Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Alex are asked to consider Riverside United Church or the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

Jean I was sorry to hear about Alex. Hold strong to your memories and may they help you through this difficult time.
Dear Jean and family, very sorry to learn of Alex's passing. He was well thought of by our family for his genuine and generous nature. The "McComb eggs" were legendary in our home and my dad, Mel, loved to hear Alex's stories. I wish you comfort and care at this difficult time.

Jean, Dianne, Grant and family, my thoughts and prayers are with you and the family at this difficult time. I remember meeting Alex during the organization of the Farm Hiker Tour. Our paths crossed many times over the years, usually at some agricultural function or another. Alex had a wonderful smile. May the memories you cherish help you through the days ahead.

Jean and the McComb Family, Please accept our condolences on the passing of Alex. Over the years, the Ingram family enjoyed Alex's many visits and updates often during his egg deliveries! Alex had a great laugh, a good sense of humour and not to mention a strategic business mind in short he was an all round good person.
