Geoffrey ‘Geoff’ William Triggs

Peacefully at home surrounded by his family, on Friday, June 18, 2021, in his 71st year. Beloved husband of Anne. Loving father of Sallyanne Triggs and Louise Amy Triggs. Much loved grandfather of Sam. Dear brother of Shirley (Paul) Jackson and Wayne (Jayne) Triggs. Deeply missed by his family in England. Predeceased by his parents Amy and William Triggs.
Geoff, his wife, Anne, and children, Sally and Louise, emigrated to Canada from England in 1974. After a short stint working at Ford Talbotville, Geoff started an apprenticeship in sprinklers with Automatic Sprinkler in 1974. Geoff was one of the original co-founders of Forest City Fire Protection in 1985.
Geoff earned the reputation as a caring, loyal, industrious individual who was not afraid to tackle any project or problem. He hit things straight on with passion and vigor but did so in a manner that was thoughtful and considerate of others. It was a privilege to get to know Geoff but it was a blessing and an honour to be considered his friend – and many did.
As passionate as Geoff was about work, his main concern and love was his family. Please remember Anne, Sally and her son Sam, and Louise, as they navigate these difficult days.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 2, 2021 from 6:00 – 9:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. A funeral service will follow on Saturday, July 3, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. The family welcomes friends to participate in the service via livestream. Registration is required to attend the visitation, service, and to view the livestream.

Please note: as per the directive of the Bereavement Authority of Ontario, attendance numbers will be restricted. Please be aware that COVID-19 protocols are in place which may preclude some from being able to attend and masks are mandatory at both indoor and outdoor services.

Dear Anne and Family Please accept my condolences for Geoffs passing. I had the pressure of working with Geoff when l was a seventeen year old apprentice and then again just before he retired. He was always very patient and very enjoyable to work with. Jim Easton
Dear Triggs family. My deepest condolences. I had the honor and privilege to be hired as a service technician under Geoff at FCFP. He was an absolute gentleman and compassionate man who loved to share his knowledge of the trade. I will forever be grateful to have had him as my superior. He will be greatly missed in the industry and furthermore as a wonderful human being. I will never forget him.

Anne and family, Marie and I where very shocked to read of Geoff's passing. The connection between my family and Geoff's family go back to the marquee tent's and caravans of Burbo Camp in Meols England during the mid 1950's and 1960's. Geoff and Anne became great friends of my parents many years later here in Canada. After the passing of my Dad in 2004, Geoff and Anne went out of their way to make frequent visits to my Mum at her trailer in Grand Bend and apartment in London. Right up to her passing in 2011. With Geoff's passing we have all lost a true gentleman. A gentleman in more ways than one.
We were so saddened to read about Geoff's passing. We met the Triggs' family in 1975 when we became neighbours. We had an instant connection with them having emigrated from England the previous year. Geoff was a gentle, kind soul who loved his family very much. Sincere condolences to Anne, Louise, Sally and Sam. Sincerely Chris and Jack
Anne, Sally, Louise, Growing up in Hoylake as an only child in the 1950's living in Groveland Avenue and Geoff living round the corner in Shaw Street, he was the brother I never had rather than a cousin. As life went on we didn't see each other for years yet always carried on were we left off when we did meet up, or on the phone. He may be gone but he will not be forgotten. Thoughts are with you All. Anne and family, It was a pleasure to work with Geoff for many years at FCFP. While our direct paths did not often intersect Geoff was always kind and compassionate and had a passion to share his knowledge with others. My deepest condolences to you and your families. Al and Ally Vanderlaan
Our sincere condolences to Anne, Sally, Louise and Sam on your loss. We are trying to come to terms with the shock of losing Geoff and we can't imagine how you all feel. Geoff was a sincere man who help anyone who needed it. I will be eternally grateful for all the kindness and help he (and his family) gave to me and my family over the years.
