Gerald (Gerry) Latour
November 12, 2025
On Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after a short but difficult battle with leukemia, Gerry Latour passed away peacefully, in his 68th year, surrounded by his family. Gerry was the beloved husband of Mary Lou Core for 41 years, the loving father of Kayla (Jay Bontje) and Lauren, brother to Ladeena (Gerald) Volland, and uncle to numerous nieces and nephews. Gerry was predeceased by his parents Clarence and Ina, and his siblings Alexandra Asen, Lorraine Heywood, and Glen Latour.
Gerry grew up in the Exeter area and moved to London, where he met and married Mary Lou. Together they raised their daughters and shared a busy life with family and friends.
Gerry worked for Canada Post for over 35 years. He is remembered as funny, kind, and fair, and was respected by those he worked with. He retired to continue motorcycling, cycling, and travelling with Mary Lou across Canada, the US, Europe, and Asia.
Never one to turn down a good cigar or a nice glass of wine, he will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for his stories, his sense of humour, and his steadfast care for those he loved. A special thanks to the many friends and family who were so supportive during these difficult weeks, and to the LHSC Oncology, Hematology, and CCTC staff for their attentive and compassionate care.
A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
In Gerry’s memory, please consider donating blood or registering for stem cell donation through Canadian Blood Services.
