Geraldine Blanche Rittenhouse

March 16, 2020

October 6, 1924 – March 16, 2020

Geraldine, predeceased by her parents Ellen Blanche Tanner and Norman Jarmain, and sister of the late Gerald, Merlin (Madeline), Tim (Gladys), and Calvert (Roma) Jarmain, was a friend to many and lover of animals. She loved Hawaii, old movies, reading and travelling. As per her request, there will be no services here: cremation has taken place and her ashes will be returned to Hawaii for her final rest. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Geraldine are asked to consider the MS Society of Canada or a charity of their choice

Gerry has been known to me all my life. As a little girl she was my friends' Aunt and a beloved, dear friend to both my Aunts. A formidable woman of adventure and spirit, she will always be remembered as one who would speak her mind but was kind of heart. A life well lived but perhaps too long as the call to rest was very strong. A Peaceful rest is at hand and fond memories of nice times spent will remain.

~ Julie Anne Baskette

Gerry was always very kind to me and I know was very concerned for me. I'm sorry I missed a final good-bye. I know she longed to rest in peace and my prayers go with her.

~ Mark David, friend

I will miss Geraldine so much. Although we met under unfortunate circumstances ( I was her victim advocate in Honolulu, HI), we subsequently developed a genuine friendship. We spoke several times a year and would laugh and she would reminisce about her time here on Oahu. She missed being here and longed to return. I was planning to come and finally meet her face to face this year and now I will never have the pleasure. Covid interrupted my plans to travel. My heart hurts knowing that we will never meet. I will forever cherish all of our fun phone conversations. She was a spry, witty, funny woman! I will miss our talks! Rest in peace Geraldine! With love, Robin
