I am so sorry for all of Glen's loved ones. To have lost Glen so unexpectedly is tragic. I grew up with the Robert's family, as I was best friends with Trish. While I had not seen Glen for years, I have many memories from when he was a teenager. He made his parents very proud with his accomplishments and I know he was a great brother to his siblings. Sorry for all of your loss. May your sadness turn quickly to fond memories and smiles for the great moments you all had together. Carolyn

My deepest expressions of loss to Glen's family. In the last two years on the NBRHC board, I got to know Glen through conversations about travel and his home. What a great sense of humour and then fearless declarations expressed in patient care advocacy, a representation of how he lived his life. I will miss his kind and caring ways.

I am very sad to hear about the sudden and tragic passing of Glen, just really in his prime and with so much more to give to the world. Glen stepped way out of the box as a chiropractor and was a symbol of strength, intelligence, passion and vision.. with just the right amount of humour and compassion kicked in. I enjoyed our many conversations about the challenges in the Canadian Health Care system but these chats always converted to opportunities to look at things from a new perspective, to come with new ideas - all for the purpose of improving peoples' health and their lives. My sincere condolences to his family who were very lucky to have such an incredible person in their lives. Take care. Deborah

I was truly shocked and saddened to hear of Glen's death. I worked closely with him for many years on several projects at the Conference Board and I was always appreciative of his great enthusiasm as well as his deep empathy for others. He was a joy to work with. Glen and I have spoken several times since he left the Board and I was impressed with his love of life and the way he embraced new endeavors. He will be missed.

Glen was a truly amazing person. I had the pleasure of working with him, and he was always encouraging and supportive. He brought a caring and dynamic approach to the office, and was always there to lend a hand or an ear when needed. He will be missed terribly.

Glen was a great friend and bigger than life, which makes it so hard to comprehend that he is now gone. But his legacy of leadership in the health sector will live on, especially here in Ottawa. He was a man with a big heart and big ideas. My condolences to his family. We will miss him greatly.

My deepest sympathies to Glen's family especially his boys who he spoke so proudly of. Almost 15 years I worked with Glen beginning with the Conference Board but then with CPRN, CPNet Western and in Saskatchewan. His vision and "out of the box thinking" always challenged me and his team to stride to greatness. I learned much from him and will miss my friend especially his big, booming voice and laughter.

I am so sad to hear of Glen's tragic passing. He was a colleague and friend for many years at the Conference Board. Glen was a whirlwind of energy and enthusiasm, always had a story or joke to lighten any mood. His "just do it" drive and unique way of cutting through bureaucracy and road blocks to get work done was refreshing and entertaining. My condolences go out to his family, especially Sharon, Tyler and Michael.

Glen was a friend beyond compare and I will be forever grateful to have known him. Never afraid to challenge the status quo or offer an idea for a better way, Glen was a trusted advisor and colleague whose vision and enthusiasm to improve healthcare in Canada inspired Premiers, health ministers, providers and patients alike. He was never too busy to lend an ear or share a heavy load, especially in the toughest of times - as long as you were willing to have hot chocolate and spaghetti and meatballs one more time, even in the UK! My deepest sympathies to Glen's family. Thank you for sharing him with the rest of us so generously. It was a true privilege to call Glen my friend.

~ Fred Horne

My deepest sympathies to Glen's family and I am so sad to lose him as a friend and fellow board member. We worked together on the North Bay Regional Health Centre and his passion for patients, his extensive knowledge of healthcare and ability to ask profound questions to challenge our thinking will be deeply missed. As a friend I admired his renovation and home building skills, his love for music and sense of humour by never missing an episode of Saturday Night Live. :) He was taken far too soon from us!

My heart broke a bit today and my eyes went red from tears. I had just been informed of the news of my friend Glen's untimely passing. I went straight to Tim Horton's and hoisted a hot chocolate in his honour. Memories flood over me with so many stories I could tell. Stories of friendship, struggles, victories, joy, proffessional (Glen would know why I misspelled that word) discussions, coffee at 3 am, my wedding, his wedding... So many stories that are meant to be shared again when we are old. You left us too soon Glen. My love and support for you Sharon. My condolences for Tyler and Michael. One thing I know for sure right now is that there is a lot more energy in heaven since December 1st and Glen will get it ready for our arrival, whenever that may be.

~ James Nero, D.C.

I was so very saddened to hear the news of Glen's accident and passing. I worked with Glen at The Conference Board of Canada. We were both directors of research. He was a ball of energy (understatement!) and a great colleague. I came to know him as a fine and noble fellow. I shall cherish his memory and of the fine times we shared at the Conference Board. My deepest condolences to his family and friends. Judith L. MacBride-King

Working with Glen on the Board of the North Bay Regional Health Centre was a joy. He always had the answer but rather than vanity it was always with kindness and a twinkle in his eye. He was a calm supportive presence who was quick to laugh and to jump in and help. I will miss him a great deal.

I was shocked to hear of Glen's sudden death. I worked with him on many demanding projects for close to 20 years. Glen was intense, hard-working, full of fun and immensely human. He built strong work teams and always shared credit. I will miss him tremendously. My condolences to his family. Julie
