I met Glenn through Scouting as many of us did. He used to get kidded about being tall but always seemed to defer by saying that he was only 5 feet 17 inches tall. We enjoyed so many camping and canoe trips for the 4 - 5 years that we hung out together. He was a great mentor to so many youngsters and fellow Scouters alike. He truly believed in the "out" in Scouting. Youth were encouraged to aspire beyond their comfort zones and learn to become independent whether it be learning how to live and cook in the outdoors or pick up a branch, put some soil in a knotted sock and play lacrosse in an open field. He mentored youngsters to have respect for each other, our country (flag raising and lowering) and for our natural world around us being at a weekend camp or planting god knows how many trees. To Linda and Daniel - our sincere condolences to you at this time. Although he is gone from us far too early, you must know that he has positively touched the lives of so many young people who have fond memories of growing up and enjoying what life has to give. It was with great sadness that I learned of Glenn's passing. I have so many happy memories of spending time with Glenn as a fellow Scouter at the 70th Scout Troop here in London. Some of my fondest memories with Glenn were at the Canadian Scout Jamboree in Sylvan Lake, Alberta in 2013. He was an extraordinary man. An “Old School Scouter” that I learned so much from. There are many in the Scouting community who will mourn deeply his passing as his was a life of service, love, compassion and excellence. Rest in Peace, my friend. God bless him, Linda and Daniel at this time of sorrow. Please accept my heartfelt condolences, and I hope that in a small way they help through these trying times.

Our sincerest condolences Linda and Daniel. There are some people who leave a lasting mark on your life. Scouter Glenn played a central role in our lives for many years. He accepted kids for who they were, he offered lifelong lessons and he challenged those in his troop to step up to new challenges. That’s a pretty special legacy. RIP Scouter Glenn.

My sincere and heartfelt condolences Linda and Daniel. I’ve known Glenn for years and years. He’s one of those people that always stays with you. He’s genuine, kind, funny, happy, compassionate, sincere, a great friend. He was so proud of you, Daniel. Whenever we talked , he always brought you up. The world just lost an amazing person but his soul has left a mark on all of us. There’s a lot to be said for someone that has put smiles on so many peoples faces over the years. 💕

Glenn was a devoted Scouter and our Scouting paths crossed many times. We always took the time to smile and chat. We also shared an interest in cast iron. One of my favorite memories of Glenn was his purchase of a broken waffle iron from my booth at Memory Lane . He fixed it, prepared some waffles and sent me pictures of the waffle. We have lost one of the best. RIP Glenn.

I am so sorry to hear of Glenn’s passing. Back in the summer of 2000 I moved to London with my family and was looking forward to entering my last year of scouting. At that time females in scouts were few and far between, and my parents had a really hard time finding a troop that was willing to have a girl in the troop; that was until the day my dad spoke to Glenn. He welcomed me into his troop and I was so thankful. Glenn had a profound impact on my teen years and taught me so many life skills. 22 years later and I would still periodically pop into Rona just to say hi and have a quick catch up. I would walk in and he remembered my name, who I was and all of our past conversations. To think of all the youth he has met over the years - this was truly spectacular. Glenn, I will never forget the man you were and I can imagine how many peoples lives you touched similar to mine. Thank you for being so open, welcoming and generous with your time. Our young (and now old) generations will never forget the impacts you have had on our lives. Until we meet again
