Grant J. Cadotte
September 12, 2018
Passed peacefully in his sleep at Parkwood Hospital on Wednesday, September 12, 2018, at age 77. Grant was preceded in death by his wife Yvonne Cadotte (née McLay) and his second wife Betty-Ann Laur. Father to Michael, Gregory, Lisa, and Melanie. Grandfather to James, Andrew, and Joshua Cadotte, Bryar and Conar Harrison, and Madison Camara. Cherished brother to Roger, Carl, Barry, Larry, Bonnie, Peggy, Patty, Betty, Wendy, and Sharon. He was the great-grandfather to Benjamin, and was looking forward to welcoming a new great-granddaughter this November. Grant will be forever missed by his family and we will cherish memories of his bright eyes and smile forever. Grant had a successful career in the automotive business, co-owner of Oakridge Ford Sales from 1981 until 1999, with his partner Daryl Wilkins, who predeceased him. He was a long time member of the Highland Country Club, and was an avid and talented golfer. After retirement, Grant continued to enjoy golf and many other pursuits including travel, scuba diving, fishing, and of course his beloved Blue Jays. A special mention to his medical team which included: Dr. Lucy Pezzuto, Dr. Stephen Welch, his palliative care team, including VON nurses and doctors, and the Parkwood Hospital Palliative Care nurses. The nurses and doctors all displayed amazing empathy towards Grant, and for that we will be forever appreciative. A funeral service to celebrate Grant’s life will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday, September 17, 2018 at 3:00 p.m., with visitation one hour prior. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to make a donation in memory of Grant are asked to consider VON.
