Surrounded by her loving family at Earls Court Village, London, on Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Cherished wife of the late John Lightfoot. Loving aunt of Kelly and Cliff Girden, Bonnie and Gary Lewis, and William Lightfoot. Dear great-aunt of Craille Parsons and David and Becky Girden. Will be missed by friends Tony Vermeulen and his late wife Leni, Kyle Vermeulen and his wife Kim, Niki Vermeulen and her husband Phil, Josh Vermeulen and his wife Suzy, and Muriel Holden. Remembered by several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Friday, October 17, 2014 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the London Health Sciences Foundation – Cancer Centre, Palliative Care at Parkwood Hospital or the United Way.

Over the last year, I spent many a meal with my Mom and Gwen at the RoyalCliffe Retirement Residence. We enjoyed many conversations on the news of the day where her good wit and humour shined despite her quiet demeanor. Forever pleasant and respectful with whom she encountered, I was always impressed by her stiff upper lip in the face of her declining health. Gwen may have been small in stature but she was a formidable woman. We will miss you at dinner, Gwen! Tim Gray
