It is with love and sadness that we announce the passing of Helen Vetero on Wednesday, June 24, 2026, at the age of 76.
Helen built a rewarding career as a registered nurse specializing in neurosurgery at London Health Sciences Centre for more than 20 years. She was a dedicated and compassionate nurse who made a lasting difference in the lives of her patients and colleagues.
After retiring, Helen enjoyed spending time with her close friends, tending her garden, reading, knitting, and the companionship of her beloved cat, Phoebe. She never stopped talking about her cherished dog, Chester, and anyone who knew Helen could see her face light up whenever his name came up. Helen will be remembered for her warmth, gentle spirit, and genuine kindness. She had a quick wit and a wonderful sense of humour that brought smiles to those around her.
Helen will be deeply missed by her son, Mark Vetero, and her daughter, Christina Vetero. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Cedric MacDonald.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Helen’s life at Westview Funeral Home, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Friday, July 10, 2026, at 12:00 p.m. Words of remembrance to begin at 12:30 p.m. All who knew Helen are warmly invited to share stories, reminisce, and celebrate a life well lived over food and refreshments.

So sorry to hear of Helen’s passing. We worked together in late 70s on 7th Floor UH . Helen was a great coworker , and we enjoyed many great times together .Sweet memories forever . 🙏❤️
Helen was a friend as well as a colleague, nursing together on 7th heaven (Neuro)at UH. She was an exceptional, caring nurse. Outside of work she was fun loving, friendly to all & always had a smile. She will be missed. Hugs to Christine & Mark. She loved you both very much.🤗🤗🙏🏽
Helen was the best neighbour you could ever ask for, and was loved by our whole family (cats and dogs included). We will miss her very much♡
I first met Helen in nursing school in SSMarie. She was caring, fun, mischievous and generous, and she stayed that way for as long as I knew her. My sympathies to her family. RIP dear Helen.
