Helga Luise Reinhardt
November 28, 2016
REINHARDT, Helga Luise (née von Rhade)
1926 – 2016
Passed peacefully at Highview Residences on Monday the 28th of November, in her 90th year. Predeceased by her husband Heinz Ludvig and son Henry. Helga was a loving mother to her children Karin (John), Peter (Pam), Sylvia (Dan) and Cindy (Rob). She is survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Born in Germany, Helga fulfilled her dream of coming to Canada in 1950. Throughout her life, Helga was known for her strength, determination and joyful enthusiasm in the accomplishment of any goal she set before herself, including establishing a successful garden center (Cinderella Gardens) and equestrian riding academy (Lindenhof Riding Academy). Helga’s love of horses combined with her passion of teaching children were witnessed by all who were a part of her time operating Lindenhof. Many will also remember her from her time teaching horticulture and landscaping at Fanshawe College. With her bubbly personality, indomitable spirit, love of life (and let’s not forget her passion for dance), Helga touched many people through her numerous careers as well as her long association with the German Canadian Club. Her truest pleasure was family get-togethers. She approached them with the delight of a mother hen gathering her chicks under her wings. A woman of determination, the saying that was often cited during Helga’s last months captures her essence best: “If she’s still feisty, she’s still Gramma!”. Helga’s family extend their warmest appreciation to the amazing and dedicated staff at Franklin House, Highview Residences for their kind, loving and family style of care they provided to Helga during her time with them. Visitation will be held on Saturday from 7:00 -9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, December 4th at 2:00 p.m. Helga loved flowers… please send a bouquet of flowers to someone you love in her memory.

I fondly remember Helga from my daughter's riding lessons at Lindenhof. Only Helga could wear diamonds and rubber boots at the same time. One very special lady .
I have many, many fond memories of my time spent at Lindenhof with my friend Gail Campbell and of course my horse, Shannon. I always enjoyed seeing your Mom at the barn. I remember her with a smile on her face and a laugh that followed. Condolences to your family/
Condolences to you all on the loss of your Mother. I remember Helga very fondly from my days in the London Pony Club, London Horsemanship Club and various other horsey venues. She always had a ready smile and shared her advise and knowledge readily. I always loved her German dresses and her hair in braids. Thanks for the walk down memory lane your Mother was one in a million!
Condolences to the family .... I have many fond memories of Helga when I boarded my horse (Bronze Gazelle) at Lindenhof. Helga was a very knowledgable horsewoman, she always had a story and smile to share.
Such great memories of pony club with Helga and her wonderful spirit. She helped us enjoy our horses and have fun! Will always remember her.. Deepest sympathies to you all.
Helga was a unique and one of a kind friend who was always there for me. I have been away from london several years but still cherish many memories of time spent with her: On our holidays, the stables, the Aquatic centre, and dancing at the German Club. Her enthusiastic and optimistic attitude lifted people up. My love and condolences to all who will miss her greatly.
Karin and family, Our condolences to you all on the loss of your mother/grandmother. We got to know you and Helga at Highview when my Mom was also there. Helga was a very determined lady who always had a sparkle in her eyes and a warm smile for everyone. You will miss her terribly. Our thoughts and prayers are with you at this difficult time.
Thank you all for your condolences. It made me smile today, reading all your memories of Grama, she did touch a lot of hearts. We've had lots of support through this difficult time and continue to hear from people who were touched by Helga.
I remember Helga and her family very fondly from my days learning to ride, and learned about much more that i realised. Helga was a warm, commanding mentor who inspired me with her love for life and her generosity to us young girls who spent summers at her barns. My sincere condolences to all her family. She will be missed as much as she gave to others.
My deepest sympathies to your family at this time. I will remember Helga from her many years teaching courses for the City and her riding classes. She certainly showed her joy and knowledge to all that were involved. Glad to have known Helga during that time
