Herbert Burnham Muckle

February 21, 2016

Peacefully, surrounded by his loving family at University Hospital on Sunday, February 21, 2016, at the age of 70. Cherished husband of Marlene Muckle (née Duriancik). Loving father of Jennifer Norton and Jason Muckle. Proud grandfather of Bryce, Simon and Adam Norton. Dear brother of Linda Rabb (William), Garry Muckle (Louise), Robert Muckle (Heather), and Donald Muckle. Sadly missed by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents, Harold and Dorothy (née Burnham) Muckle. Woodstock was Bernie’s home for many years before moving to London. Upon retirement he enjoyed travelling, and was a member of the Knights of Columbus. The family would like to thank the compassionate staff in the CCU, University Hospital, for their exceptional care of Bernie. Visitation will be on Wednesday from 10:00-11:00 a.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. MICHAEL’S PARISH, 511 Cheapside Street, London, on Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to the Heart & Stroke Foundation of Ontario.

My condolences to Marlene and Linda and the other members of the Muckle family. Five years ago this month Berne and I were roommates at University Hospital..I had a bypass and he had a valve transplant. When I heard the nurses speaking to him I recognized the name. When our curtain was open I asked Bernie if he had worked at Supertest Petroleum and he answered yes....I also remember Linda worked there as well! Sometimes in life paths cross again...as did ours.....I am very sorry for your loss. On behalf of my spouse Michael and myself...our sincere condolences. Paul and Michael
