Idalina de Andrade Braga, at the age of 85, peacefully passed away in her sleep on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, and entered the loving presence of Jesus, her Lord and Saviour. Beloved wife of Rev. Samuel Andrade, together for 63 years. Cherished mother of the late Ana Paula (1970), Paulo Alexandre (Kathy), Margarida Isabel (Daniel), Luis Filipe (Kristine), and Ana Raquel (Benjamin). Proud Vóvó of Alexis, Gillian, Christian, Julian, Nathan, Emma, Lillie, Madeline, Jacob, Lila, Rosalina, Samuel, and great-grandson, Jace. Missed by brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. Also missed by her faith family at New Horizons Baptist Church and friends at Chartwell Riverside Retirement Residence.
Idalina loved gardening, crocheting, and playing with her grandchildren. Her caring, humble and joyous spirit was a gift to all those who had the privilege of sharing time and place with her. She served her community as an obstetrical nurse for over 27 years in the Azores. Alongside her husband, she served faithfully in church ministry for over 25 years, both in the Azores and following Jesus’s call to London, Ontario, Canada.
Idalina lived a life of faith in Jesus Christ, drawing comfort in God’s Word. She leaves a legacy of trusting in God regardless of circumstances. Her outlook on life is captured in a Bible verse she often reminded family and friends:
“Até aqui, nos ajudou o Senhor!”
“Until now, the Lord has helped us!”

Visitation will be held at Westview Funeral Home, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Sunday, September 27, 2026 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m. and Monday, September 28, 2026 from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, London. Fellowship will take place at New Horizons Baptist Church, 819 Maitland Street, London.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations in Idalina’s name to Igreja Batista Novos Horizontes / New Horizons Baptist Church.
