I worked with her on the Geriatric Rehabilitation Unit at Parkwood for a number of years. I remember her ability to bring the best treatments and medications to the patients. She was not intimidated by anyone, and always had the facts at her fingertips. What a bitter irony that such a fine mind was taken by a brain tumor. Most of all, I shall always admired her grace and poise. In spite of the saddness and loss you now feeel, I wish you all courage and fortitude as you reframe your lives without her.

I have been fortunate to know Sharada, Monisha, and Sherain for many years, and I was deeply saddened to hear about their mother's passing. She was such a strong and intelligent woman, and she was a courageous fighting during these last few months. I was saddened to hear of Indira's passing. The news came to me in a roundabout way. I was a colleague of Indira's at St. Michael's Hospital in Toronto. I recall some good times laughing and sharing professional activities. She was always a pleasure to work with and to share time with. We lost touch after she married Raj and moved to London. Just before the wedding and Indira's departure from Toronto, I held a small party at my apartment to bid her farewell. She graciously brought me a hibiscus plant. I still have that plant and it continues to bloom for me. May your many memories of Indira, wife and mother, continue to bloom for you, as you mourn your loss.
