Peacefully at Extendicare London on Wednesday, May 11, 2022 in her 95th year. Beloved wife of the late Frederick. Loving mother of Brian (Pauline), Arlene (the late Robin), and Margaret (Ben). Cherished grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 27. Treasured sister of Walter, Annie, Margaret, Katherine and Helen.
Cremation has taken place. A private family inurnment will take place at a later date.
Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Irene are asked to consider her favourite charity, Salthaven Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.

Brian, Arlene, Margaret and families; Extending heartfelt condolences in the passing of your Mom. A long life, truly well lived. Numerous memories come to mind over the years and always, your Mom had a ready smile which was warm and welcoming.

Brian, Arlene & Margaret & Families My heartfelt condolences in hearing of Irene's passing. She was so gentle and caring, and a great cook. I enjoyed our visits through the years, both in Plant City and Mount Forest. Even though she was my Dad's cousin, I thought of her as my Auntie. So sorry for your loss. RIP Irene. A lovely lady with a big heart. She was part of mom and dad’s life (Jack and Shirley) for a great many years. Irene will be fondly remembered by our family. We are saddened by your loss.

Irene, although I have never met you in person. I can only imagine how proud you must be and how much love you have felt over the years with your large and beautiful extended family. Your son Brian is our angel on earth, trying to take care of, and look out for it, all the wonderful creatures that require help. And your beautiful daughter-in-law Pauline, is one of the most sincere nicest people I know. I can only imagine the richness of your life just on the few people I know in the Salt family. You were truly blessed. I’m sure you will be missed every day.
