Peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, August 28, 2012 in his 84th year. Beloved husband of Margaret. Loving father of Brenda (Rick) Reeves and Alexander (Yvonne) Fisher and step-father of Brent (Andrea) Bennett and their children Kylea and Logan. Dear brother of Isabel Shearer of Scotland. Predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Fisher, and five brothers and sisters. James was a firefighter with the London Fire Department for 32 ½ years and retired as Director of Training and was also a lifetime member of the Masonic Lodge in Scotland. Friends will be received by the family on Thursday from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the funeral service will be conducted on Friday, August 31, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Interment at Oakland Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of James are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society.

I worked at the London Fire Department and was Jock's trainee. I was fortunate to have been raised in a Scottish area of Ontario and Jock's brogue made me feel quite at home. Jock has left me with a lot of knowledge and fun times to be remembered. He will always have a sweet spot in my heart . May the Lord give you strength and guidence at this time of sorrow. Dear Brenda and Rick: We were so very sorry to hear of the passing of your Dad. I have wonderful memories of the times we were all together and what a true gentleman in all senses of the word he was. He will be truly missed by all. We are sorry we can't be there to hug you in person, but Carol will pass them on to you.
