James (Jim) Theodore Geddes
October 30, 1934 - June 22, 2025
Jim passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, June 22, 2025 in his 91st year. He leaves behind his much loved and devoted wife of 71 years, Gladys (née Weiss), and his children, Terry, Gina (Paul), and Derek (Penny). He was predeceased by his parents, Fredrick and Sarah; his siblings—Angeline, Nell, Mary and Bill; his son, Mark, his daughter-in-law, Margaret and his son-in-law, Chris. Jim was the proud grandfather to 9 grandchildren-Sioned, Sheena (Andy), Wesley (Tasha), Ryland (Noelle), Kyle (Ashwini), Sarah (Pat), Megan, Haley and Jackson (Danielle). He was delighted to be great grandpa to 10 great-grandchildren—Lola, Graeme, Kieran, Harper, Henry, Bowie, Caden, Riya, Barrett and Holland.
Jim spent his formative years on a farm in Walkerton, ON and moved to London in 1965 where he created a very successful franchise for MacLean Hunter Magazines. After retirement, Jim and Gladys split their time between their London, ON home and their Sarasota, FL home. Jim was an avid golfer and a long-time member of Sunningdale Golf Course. He loved watching the birds in the back yard, driving his Genesis EV and drinking Southern California Cab Sav. But most of all, Jim cherished his great-grandchildren and spent hours looking at their photos on his digital frame. This intelligent, creative, confident and determined man was admired by all those who knew him. He will be greatly missed.
A special thanks to Jim’s palliative care doctor, Dr. Katrina Andrejevic, whom he referred to as the “wonderful Dr. Kathy” for her compassion and support.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. and Thursday, June 26, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. with a service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Centre, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, ON. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jim are asked to consider the Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of their choice.

We are so sad to hear of the passing of Jim. We will miss him and we will always have great memories of the fun times we had together whether it was visiting with him at his home, playing golf or having a great dinner with lots of good fun & conversation. Jim was always a caring and very kind gentleman who thrived on his wonderful wife and family.

Please know Mrs. Geddes all the staff at Shoppers Drug Mart are thinking of you and your families during this difficult time with the lost of a kind gentleman we all have enjoyed serving and seeing over the years. For me, I will miss his sense of humour, his pleasantries and mostly him telling me how much he loved his wife and family. I will miss helping him find product in our store on seniors day. I will always remember James and consider him a friend. Please know Mrs. Geddes we are just a phone call away, and know you can call and ask for me (Kim) anytime to help you with anything.
