Peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Monday, August 11th, 2014 at the age of 79. Beloved husband of Lynne Richard-Onn. Loving father of Kathilyn and James Allewell and grandfather of Wesley. Dear son of the late Melville (1993) and Olivette (Wallace) (1992) Onn, formerly of London (Onn’s Fishmarket) and Ivan. Dear brother and brother-in-law to William and Ruth Onn of Cambridge, David and the late Jeanette (Harris) Onn of Blyth, and Laurie and Marten Dykstra of Exeter. Missed by his nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, friends and neighbours. Jim worked in local radio and television stations in Southwestern Ontario. Lastly with the SW Ministry of Education and Robarts School for the Deaf. In retirement, he was a stay-at-home Dad, handyman, member-London Ham Radio and Ministry Retirees, and loved to travel. Visitation will be held on Wednesday from 6:00-9:00 p.m. at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, where the memorial service will be conducted on Thursday, August 14th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. Private family interment in Ivan Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jim are asked to consider the London Health Sciences Foundation – Cancer Centre or the Salvation Army (London).

I wish to extend my heartfelt condolences on the passing of your husband and father. Like Jim, I was retired from the Robarts School for the Deaf, but kept in touch by meeting with the group of retirees for lunch once a month. You'll be missed Jim, but not forgotten.
