Janet Mae Pitkin
May 7, 2021
November 3, 1950 – May 7, 2021
After a courageous battle with cancer, Janet Mae Pitkin, of London, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Friday, May 7, 2021, at the age of 70. Beloved wife, best friend, and soul mate of Stuart Pitkin for 34 years. Loving mother and proud grandmother of Jamie and Shannon Lazar (Cameron, Nolan, Jazmyn); Janet Lazar (Dylan); Alan and Kristi Pitkin (Haylee, Hannah); Amanda and Angelo Memmolo (Ashley, Cortney, Sadey). She will be missed by her sister, Gwen (Kevin) McKeown; brother, Frank (Marilyn) Harrison; and by many nieces, nephews, in-laws, and cousins. Predeceased by her mother, Janet Cox; and her sister, Connie Hartland. Janet was a beautiful person inside and out, with her infectious smile and kind heart; to know her was to love her. She loved to golf, play cards, and listening to music. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Janet was always the life of any party; if there was a table, she would be dancing on it and so would anyone she would drag up with her. She made people feel comfortable and accepted. You could always feel her love and it resonated with all those around her. She lived across Canada and enjoyed traveling, especially to the UK where she and Stu toured the countryside and enjoyed the many beauties and history that surrounded them. She will be remembered for her generous laugh, hilarious antics, amazing hugs, the best tickle, and her amazing banana bread. As per Janet’s wishes, cremation has taken place and no service will be held. In memory of Janet, memorial donations to the Canadian Neuroendocrine Tumour Society would be appreciated.

Dear Stu and Family, our hearts go out to you all with the loss of Dear Janet. Gilbert and I were so saddened, shocked and heartbroken to hear of Janet's passing. We were fortunate to have met through our NET journey and the London patient support group - which Janet was kind enough to lead - as well as volunteering together for several National NET awareness days and connecting at NET patient conferences. We shared our stories, laughs, concerns and were always amazed of Janet's positive outlook, sense of humour and compassion. We were hoping to reconnect for a glass of wine in the back yard but sadly it wasn't meant to be. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during such a difficult time. Our deepest condolences.
Hi Stu, so sorry to hear about Janet's passing. It's been a few years since you left our neighbourhood, but I can still hear Janet's laugh. She always had that twinkle in her eyes too - I think you were the reason for that. Kevin and I are thinking of you at this very sad time. Please drop by and say hello sometime this summer. Hugs. Marj & Kevin MacGregor.
