1942 – 2016
Passed away peacefully on June 16, 2016, attended by her loving family. Janet will at long last be reunited with her beloved husband, Tony. She leaves behind her children Jill Milliken, Jayne Simon (Steve), Andrew Vivona, and Ann Vivona Miles (Jeff); grandchildren Laura, Katie, Ben, Emily, Dan, Jordan, Owen, Elle, Gabriel, Heidi, and Bjorn; and great-grandchildren Wyatt, Antonia, Eliza, Josie, Wilson, and River. Survived by her brothers Bruce and Donald Bland, and her sister Eileen Forshaw (Robert). Predeceased by her parents, Tom and Sarah Bland. Janet was born in Windsor, Ontario and earned her teaching degree from UWO. She and Tony moved to London in 1975 to raise their family on an idyllic hundred-acre farm north of the city. Janet was a loving, intelligent, and generous soul who was devoted to her family and friends and to helping others. She worked as a schoolteacher and was always involved in volunteering. Janet loved music, especially blues, R&B, and gospel and was a lover of travel and an avid reader. She cultivated many strong friendships throughout her life. We, her family, are eternally grateful for Janet’s kindness and devotion. She will be deeply missed. A private funeral will be held to commemorate Janet’s life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the McCormick Home Alzheimer Outreach program.

Sending our thoughts and love to you and your families at this difficult time. We hope you find peace in knowing how many people's lives your Mom touched with her love, kindness, humour and spirit. She not only was a great mother, but made everyone feel welcome, comfortable and loved when in her company. I'll always remember her generosity and humour when I played with Andrew in Windsor as next door neighbours, then again when we moved to the farm right next door in North London, 9 years later. She will be missed and never forgotton. Love Rob, Donna, Ben & Lauren.
