Janie Martini-Bowers
August 4, 2026
Passed away peacefully, at Victoria Hospital, London on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at age 81, surrounded by her family. Beloved wife of the late Michael David Bowers (2016). Cherished mother of Tara Bowers (Rene Vanheule) and Jaye Michael Bowers. Nonna of Rosetta Vanheule. Missed by brother John Terry Martini, as well as many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by parents Taverno “Terry” and Lilia Martini, and brother Ronald John Martini.
Special thanks to the nurses and staff at Victoria Hospital, specifically in the respirology department for their excellent care.
Janie was passionate about people and could easily make friends with anyone. Her social nature, deep inquisitiveness, and career as a psychologist, prior to beginning her family, were core to her personality and her ability to connect with just about anyone. However, she was more than her profession; she was also a creative cook, gardener, painter, avid reader, and dedicated mother who cherished her Italian roots and traditions. Although she had her struggles, she was also resilient, and in her brighter moments, found joy in life – whether it was through her enjoyment of good conversation, good food, music, art, or theatre; or being a listening ear to her friends, and neighbours.
