While reading the obit notices in the paper today, I came upon the name Profit (I didn't know Jean's married name). I have fond memories of Jean and the Profit family dating back to our childhood days, living in the same tenement, in Edinburgh, Scotland. I remember a young Jean as being very personable, also of her winning a Beauty Contest in Edinbugh and her mother being very thrilled by this. Her brother, Stanley, was the youngest and he was my friend as we were both about the same age. Immigration took place in the 1950's for both families coming to Canada. Oddly enough we both settled in Ontario - my family in Toronto and the Profit family in Goderich. We had a visit in Goderich about fifty years ago with the Profit family but, unfortunately, lost touch afterwards - life got in the way! During my working years, for a while Goderich was one of my calls. I tried contacting Stanley but no one I asked was aware of him, but perhaps he had passed. My sympathies go out to your family on the loss of your wife, mother and grandmother.
