Jean Shirley Dunfield

Jean Shirley Dunfield (Moorehouse) in her 92nd year, died peacefully Saturday, January 14th, 2017 at University Hospital, London, Ontario, surrounded by her extended family and friends. Jean was predeceased by her beloved husband Herbert J. Dunfield, who passed away December 26, 2004 and daughter Susan Jayne Dunfield (September 8, 2014). Jean married Herb on June 19th, 1948 in Saint John, New Brunswick. Jean and Herb were blessed with the arrival of their precious daughter Susan on July 31, 1951. Jean and Herb moved their family to London, Ontario in 1965, purchasing a home, which Jean was fortunate to reside in until her passing. Jean is survived by a brother Paul and sister-in-law Dolorus Moorehouse of Saint John, New Brunswick, and his family. Jean will be sadly missed by her extended family and friends Mary Mann-McCavitt, Frank McCavitt, Amira McCavitt, Keely McCavitt and Zoe McCavitt. Jean was lovingly known as “Nana Jean”. Jean was a proud, strong-minded woman, full of grace and class, who took great pride in her personal appearance right until her passing. She was generous, grateful and kind to those around her. As per Jean’s wishes, no funeral will take place. Cremation and private interment will occur at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jean are asked to consider the CNIB or the London Regional Cancer Program.

We always enjoyed our visits with Jean. We helped Susan and Jean with the care of their gardens and home, and will miss our time with Jean. She always took such pride in her clothes, jewellery and appearance, a very gracious and caring lady. She will be missed!

It saddened my family in hearing of my Aunt Jean's passing she was a wonderful person who was full of life, she will be missed.
