POWELL, Jo-Ann Ellen – On Friday, February 11, 2011, in her 58th year, Jo-Ann was finally freed from her 5 month struggle with breast cancer. Born in Saint John New Brunswick and predeceased by her parents Harold and Josephine. Loving spouse and soulmate of Elaine Reddick and dedicated caregiver to her beloved pets Larry David and Lucy. She is fondly remembered by her close circle of friends. Special thanks to the staff of the LHSC University Hospital ICU and Palliative Care Units for their skill, caring and compassion. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, where the funeral service will be conducted on Wednesday, February 16th, 2011 at 3:00 p.m. Cremation to follow. Donations in Jo-Ann’s memory to the London Humane Society or to the Children’s Health Foundation would be greatly appreciated.

Elaine, I am so sorry to hear of your loss. Enjoy your memories. Thinking of you.
God looked around his Garden and found an empty place. He then looked down upon his earth and saw your loving face. He put his arms around you and lifted you to rest. His Garden must be beautiful, he always takes the best. He knew that you were suffering, he knew you were in pain. And knew that you would never get well on earth again. He saw your path was difficult, he closed you tired eyes, He whispered to you "Peace be Thine" and gave you wings to fly. When we saw you sleeping so calm and free of pain, We would not wish you back to earth to suffer once again. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you did not go alone. Elaine, I was shocked and saddened to learn of Jo-Ann's passing. I had the pleasure of getting to know her through a series of workshops we attended together a few years ago. Her exuberance and humor and quick wit would send a room of people into hysterics. I was lucky enough to have attended your wedding where I saw what love was shared between the two of you. My deepest condolences go out to you Elaine for your profound loss, and may the memories of time and love bring you comfort, solace and peace in grievng for this wonderful woman.
