Jack passed away peacefully at Parkwood Hospital on Monday, December 9th, 2013 in his 91st year. Jack will always be the cherished husband of Doris (Shiell), his wife of 60 years. He was a wonderful and loving father to John and his wife Linda of London, Joanne and her husband Stan of Markham, and Paul and his wife Barbara Lynn of Windsor. Beloved grandfather of Kathryn (James), Erin, Rebecca, Peter and Camryn. Jack was pre-deceased by his parents Gilbert and Jennie Stephens and his sister Evelyn Connor, all of Campbellford, and sister-in-law Bonnie Shiell of Wingham. Jack is the dear brother-in-law of Jack Connor of Campbellford, Jack Shiell of Wingham, Murray and Barbara Shiell of Belgrave, and Marilyn Shiell of London. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the wonderful staff at Parkwood Veterans Hospital, 4-Bruce for their kindness and compassion to Jack and his family. The funeral service will be conducted at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Thursday, December 12th, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior. Interment will be at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Jack are asked to consider the Veterans Care and Comfort Fund at Parkwood Hospital (c/o St. Joseph’s Health Care Foundation).

Doris and family, Sincerest condolences on the passing of your dear husband and father Jack. Mom remembers she & Dad had some very good times with you and Jack during the C-I-L years. Mom is now a resident of Woodingford Lodge Woodstock since December 1st and is settling in well. She sends her sincere sympathy, along with all of the Frank family, to your family. I'm so sorry for your loss, Doris, and Joanne and Stan. I remember how funny and nice you and Jack were to me when I travelled to London for a friend's funeral in 1987. My condolences. Marie Gravelle
We have such good memories of Jack's stories of his flying days - we loved to hear them. Our sincerest condolences at this time and keep well.
