John Michael “Mike” Thomas

May 23, 2025

At Victoria Hospital, with the family he adored by his side, Mike passed away peacefully on Friday, May 23, 2025 at the age of 77.

Mike was the devoted husband of fifty-three years to his high-school sweetheart Barbara (née Kennedy).  He was the proud father of Sean (Nina Wedge) and Jennifer Farnell (Nick) and the loving grandpa of Ruby and Grace, who were the joys of his life. He is survived by his brother David (Barbara). Mike was predeceased by his parents Reginald and Marion, siblings Paul and Sylvia, and in-laws Fred and Barb Kennedy, sister-in-law Frances Lomon and brother-in-law Mike Kennedy.

Mike will be missed by his sister-in-law, Jane Kennedy and brother-in-law, Ross Lomon and all his nieces and nephews.

Mike loved spending time with his family and friends – whether over dinner, at a celebration or a vacation. He was an avid Blue Jays fan, loved fishing on the French River and spending relaxing summers at the trailer in Bayfield. Animals held a special place in his heart, especially his beloved dog Bob and his grand-dogs George, Lucy and Pepperoni.

Mike’s family is forever grateful for the compassionate teams at Victoria and Parkwood Hospitals for their exceptional care.

Mike’s wonderful smile and great sense of humour will be missed by all who knew him, but he leaves behind countless memories that will continue to bring laughter and comfort.

Cremation has taken place.  A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date. Those wishing to make a donation in memory of Mike are asked to consider the Humane Society of London & Middlesex.
