Peacefully on Monday, July 11th, 2016, with his wife by his side, Jonathan Mark David Carmichael in his 42nd year was welcomed into the arms of his Saviour. Devoted husband to Shannon (Pasma) and dedicated father to Mackenzie, Avery and Benjamin. Loving son of Dougal and Ruth Carmichael of West Lorne and son-in-law to Keith and Judy Pasma of London. Cherished brother of Dougal (Lisa) and Jeff (Karen) and brother-in-law to Sarah and Andrea (Michael). Loved grandson to Lois Stocking and Alice Pasma. He was also adored by many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his niece Mekena. He will be remembered fondly by many friends and co-workers at L.H.S.C. At Jon’s request, cremation has already taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London, on Monday, July 18th, 2016 at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, a trust fund has been set up for Jon’s children.

Dear Family I had the pleasure of working with Jon for a few years at LHSC security. I always admired his calm and patient approach to every type of situation. My heart is filled with sadness. I have known Jon for 16 years. He was a wonderful guy! He was quiet and calm but he could make me laugh out loud with his dry witted sense of humour. He and I would chat when we ran into each other at work and it always ended with a smile. My heart goes out to you his family in the time of great sadness. I am sincerely extending my hand to you. Although a brother in law, you are more a brother than can be explained. Your understanding words of encouragement when times were hard will never be forgotten. They say a child will pull the most beautiful flower from a garden. The Lord said that our faith should be like that of children. This is where I find understanding that such a beautiful soul could be plucked from this earth. It's hard to believe we have to say goodbye. Carmy and I were hired together at LHSC almost 20 years ago. I will miss chatting and working with Carmy. He was always calm and smart about how he approached every situation. RIP my friend. To Shannon and Jon's family, you are in my thoughts always.

Jon you our a great man who was taken way to soon. So many wonderful memories to make with your young family. My condolences to your beautiful wife (who I met briefly 12years ago in 2004 and 2005 while I was a dispatcher at UH Campus for the LHSC Security Team). Jon you were one of the few guards I kept in touch with via Facebook after I left, seeing your beautiful family grow from 1 to 2 to 3 gorgeous children. Shannon is a lucky lady to have such a wonderful husband that is now her family's guardian angel :) I am so sorry to hear of your passing that you had to go so young until we all meet again. Rest in peace friend.

I am so very sorry and sad to read of Jon's passing in my work email. I cherish the memories I have caring for him. A quiet, reflective man that never complained and was always pleasant and thankful. I am blessed to have met such a terrific man and his wonderful, supportive family, wife and precious children. Some patients a nurse never forgets and Jon is one I will never forget. My sympathies.
