Joseph ‘Joe’ Gerald Malone
November 1, 2014
Peacefully on Saturday, November 1st, 2014, the day after celebrating his 91st birthday, with his family at his side at Victoria Hospital in London, Ontario. Devoted husband of 62 years to Rita (née McGee) Malone. Loving father of Mary (Oliver) Whitehead, Kathleen (Derek) Montpetit, Brian (Betty Matthews), Joanne (Jonathan) Creaghan, and Donna (Jamie) Loucks. Cherished Grandpa to 11 grandchildren: Jonathan (Leila), Beth, Ian (Sarah), Katharine, Anne, Matthew, Claire, Spencer, Connor, Aidan, and Caitlin. Predeceased by infant son Joseph, parents Joe and “Babs” Malone and siblings Bernice and Don. Joe was a graduate of McGill University, and a Chartered Accountant at Nortel in Montreal and London, ON, and at CPRI in London, ON. He was a proud veteran of World War II where he served with the RCAF. Joe was a selfless volunteer at multiple organizations, including more than 20 years with CPRI for Operation Bookmark, and was a lifelong Habs fan … for obvious reasons. Friends will be received by the family at WESTVIEW FUNERAL CHAPEL, 709 Wonderland Road North, London on Wednesday from 2:00 – 4:00 and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. JOHN THE DIVINE PARISH, 390 Base Line Road West, London, on Thursday, November 6th, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. Those wishing to express remembrance may consider donations to the Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, Spinal Cord Injury Ontario or a charity of your choice.

Dear Auntie Rita and family, I am very sad to hear of the passing of my Godfather, Uncle Joe. My thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. May he rest in peace. All my love, Loretta
Malone Family, My heartfelt sympathy and prayers are with you and your family
Brian, sorry to hear of the passing of your father Joe. Sharon and I offer our deepest sympathies to you, Betty and extended family.
Rita and family, Our deepest condolences from the Malone clan in Toronto. I will forever remember our wonderful visit last January and your generous hospitality. No better way to spend a winter Sunday afternoon looking at all of the great hockey memorabilia and watching a Canadiens game on tv. Matthew our son still talks about his visit and the Bulldogs hockey sweater he wore that day. It's comforting to know that Joe and Cliff are now re-connected in heaven and are re-living their wonderful childhood together. Kevin, Mona, Aidan, Sarah and Matthew.
Dear Aunt Rita and to all of the Malones- I am so sorry to learn of Uncle Joe's passing. You all have my heartfelt symapthies and thoughts during these difficult times. Sincerely, Kevin.
Dear Rita and family, It is with sadness I learnt of Joe's passing. My deepest sympathies. My thoughts go back to many years ago and the many good times we shared on St. Aubin street. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. Love, Carole
To Rita and family, I am very sad this week, knowing I won't be able to see or write to Joe again. I know how much he cares about the Quebec Bulldogs book and he was the one who inspired me to do it. He was a great man and his family is the living proof of his heritage. Adieu Joe et merci. Marc

Deepest condolences from Hermine, and the Malone family our thoughts are with you and yours Rita, cousin Terry.
Our deepest sympathies to Rita and family on behalf of all of the CPRI staff and volunteers. Joe was a treasured volunteer and friend and we will all miss him dearly. We were so fortunate and blessed to have Joe in our lives. He was a shining example of what it means to give back and many children, youth and families have benefitted from Joe's dedication and hard work. He will always be in our hearts. Tanya
Joe's face greeted me many times at the VOCPRI booksale where he was an incredibly dedicated volunteer. It was a pleasure to have known him.
My deepest sympathy. I know Joe from his work at CPRI and voluntering. He was always such a hard worker, especially at the Operation Bookmark, lugging boxes of books when he shouldn't have been. He was never one to slow down and always wanted to do whatever he could for the children of CPRI. I always remember his smile and quiet way. He will be missed. Debbie
