Joshua Jacob Johan Staadegaard

May 27, 2023

Took his last breath peacefully in London, Ontario on the 27th of May, 2023 in his 39th year.  His beloved wife and cherished sweetheart, Krisztina Antal, held his hand and let him go.  He was predeceased by his mother, Patricia Slegers.  Son to his father, Joe Staadegaard, and his dad, Todd Grondin (Michelle).  Brother to Dereck (Michelle), Mitchell (Candice), Nicholas (Stephanie), Arielle, and Zack.  Nephew to Peggy, Mario (Petra), Irene, Jo (Pauline), Rob (Bernice), Jack, Johannes, Sientje, Piet, Wim, Dirk, Arie, Agie, Lenie, Jan, Margriet, Frank, Simon, Tracey, Pat (Richard), Cheryl (Dave). Grandson to predeceased Johannes Antonius and Theodora Slegers and Bob and Shirley Cowden.  Son-in-law to Alex and Kathy Antal, and brother-in-law to Lorant Antal.

Joshua had battled cancer for two and a half years.  He never gave up.  He was determined on getting better. Very sadly his body could not manage the damage the cancer and treatments had caused.

Joshua was a person with a twinkle in his eyes and loved life to the fullest.  He lit up a room and was the life of every social gathering. He valued the importance of having family and friends the most.  Joshua was a very hard and creative worker.  He was able to accomplish anything he set his entrepreneurial mind to.  He lived a colourful and vibrant life with many active experiences across Canada, Europe and the sunny south. He has gone too soon.

Joshua was a Formula 1 enthusiast, an expert on anything car and farming equipment related, loved his pup Sofi. He was a natural athlete, loved the outdoors, different cultures and had an overall spiritual and positive outlook.

Cremation has taken place. We hope you can join us for visitation on Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 6 pm – 8 pm. Joshua’s celebration of life will be held on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm, at Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road North, London.

My condolences to Josh and his family. One of the most sincere friends I've had the opportunity to know who had many talents. I still remember us hanging out often -playing basketball, trying to learn new snowboard tricks and his passion for motocross. I'm saddened to hear of his passing with warmest sympathy to his brother Dereck and whole family. May he rest in peace.

You will never be forgotten brother. Thanks for always being there for me and teaching me how to undercoat a truck correctly! Thanks for including me in your beach trips and walking down the shore line laughing, always asking me “how is Chad doing”. There are so many personal qualities that I got from you and use daily. I’m so glad I got to know you. Thank you Josh

So very hard to believe that he's been taken way to early. I know that he'll be missed by so many people for his huge smile, bright blue eyes and his great sense of humor. I was honored to be in his presence. Josh you were a ROCK and never left anything unturned. Keep smiling, open your wings and fly like you've never flown before...

Josh always tried to have a positive outlook on life, even when faced with obstacles along the way. Light seemed to shine on everything he touched, and his optimistic attitude was admirable and remarkable. Our memories with Josh will be treasured. Although his smile and laugh will be missed, they are also how we will remember him. Our thoughts are with Krisztina and with Josh's family. Your strength will guide you through these challenging times. With a focus on happy memories, he will live on forever in your hearts.
