Kailash Nath Dhir
February 21, 2026
Passed peacefully at home in London, Ontario, on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at the age of 88. Beloved husband of Alka Rani for 60 years. Loving father of Seema (Sunil), Nidhi, Pooja (Mauricio) and Aarti. Adored grandfather of Nikita, Nisha and Akaash.
Kailash lived his life with deep love and compassion for everyone he encountered. A devoted disciple of Lord Sri Sathya Sai Baba, he truly embodied the values of love, humility, and kindness in all his interactions. His gentle spirit and generous heart touched many lives.
He often shared what he believed were the greatest blessings of his life: first, to be born into a pious and faith-filled family; second, to be blessed with a loving wife; third, to be the proud father of four daughters; fourth, to receive the divine grace of Lord Sri Sathya Sai Baba; and fifth, to be surrounded by beautiful souls throughout his life’s journey.
Kailash’s life was a testament to faith, devotion, and unconditional love. His legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him.

I am saddened to hear about Uncle Kailash’s passing. He and Aunty Alka were so welcoming to me when I lived in London and attended Sai Bhajans at their home. They never let me leave their home without a meal or food packed to take with me. Uncle Kailash was always so full of energy, and his love for Swami was very evident through his words and actions, including the summer retreats he would organize. He was definitely a true messenger of Sai.
Please accept our deepest sympathies on the passing of Brother Kailash. We cherish the memories of him coming to Toronto to participate in all the central council activities, and fondly remember his enthusiasm and leadership during the annual retreats. We pray for his soul to rest in peace Pathy, Sakuntala, Janani and Rubini
I say, I will see my brother Kailash Bhai this time when I go to London. But, now My "This time" will never come. He already left us alone. I am so sorry to hear about him. Please take care of yourself Alka and my all sweet daughters. He was a very sweet and loving person for us. He was very kind and happy brother. He always helped Satya Sai School with money and other food things. He was always sending donations to Sathya Sai School. And he organized so many activities for all the Sai family to be together. He was very sweet and nice brother. We will miss him very much. You are already merged with Swami. We all missing you so much. You are very special person to all of us. We lost a Brother and friend who worked to keep us together. We all miss you and love you so so much. Swami was always with you, and now you are with Swami. You always did many good things for all of us. I can’t believe you are not still with us. We will always remember your goodness and kindness. We all love you a lot. Sairam.
Om Sri Sai Ram. I have known Kailash Bhai and his family since the early '80s. Our kids attended a few retreats together and we had so many Sai Satsangs together. Even at the Londn Sai Centre that he started a his home. I had the honour of performing the wedding ceremony of one of his daughters, Pooja, so long ago. After a few years, time and distance took their toll and we sadly drifted apart. Still my memories of him and his dear family will stay with me and my family as long as we shall be around in this World of Sai Baba. May Swami Bless him and protect him as he prepares to travel into the spiritual World where he will meet with Swami Himself, there to enjoy that reunion with the Master. Jai Sai Ram.
Dearest Family, Our hearts are weeping with you for the passing of dearest Kailashji (respected elder brother to Sanjiv, Kamal, Gurinder and myself... as well as "Kailash Mani (mamaji) for Alex & Sean and most especially, treasured nephew for mom & dad (Krishna & Satya Pal Thapar). Though we know he is free of an aging body and his spirit is soaring in joy with Sri Bhagwan, the sadness for those left behind grieves the heart. He has been a steady presence in our lives for over 40 years and it is hard to imagine that he is no longer with us. His hearty laughter, tremendous hospitality (food was alway quickly offered and shared for anyone visiting the Dhir home!), generous spirit and an unbridled passion to share the love of God with everyone... all characteristics of a godly man will be missed. He loved his family (both birth and spiritual) and God. Our heartfelt condolences to dear Alka Bhabhi, Seema, Nidhi, Pooja, Arti and all of the extended family. May God grant all of you strength & courage during this difficult time. We share our grief in the passing of a great soul and wish him much joy and peace in his adventures ahead with the Divine. Krishna, Sanjiv and Kamal Thapar & Gurinder, Suman, Alex and Sean Brar

It was Seema who took my Math Course at Western during 1986-87, the year we moved to London with small children, who mentioned and invited us to come to the weekly Thursday Bhajans at their place. Dear Aunty Alka, Seema, Nidhi, Pooja, Aarti and family, our heart felt sympathies and love to you all. Uncle Kailash will be sorely missed in so many ways. My memories of him are of a true gentleman who was always fully present for his family and his community. Uncle Kailash ‘s natural large hearted generosity flowed so easily from him to all whom he came in contact. It’s this kindness to those of us who were students and His tendency to refer to all of us “ Putar “ soothed and made us feel at home in so many ways. We love you, Kailash Uncle. Knowing you was a great blessing to all of us. I was remembering you fondly just a few days ago after Shivratri, thinking about how you were an integral part of my childhood in the Sai organization. I never forget how compassionate you were to me as a young child at the retreats in London. You made me feel safe and taught me how to make wood-burning artwork when I was too overwhelmed to join other large group activities. I vividly recall you joking around with a group of us kids and making us laugh out loud. Your faith in God was powerful and energized everyone around you. Thank you for your immense contributions to this world. You will be deeply missed, but know that your legacy will live on through the countless lives that you touched. To Kailash Uncle's close friends and family - may you find healing and peace as you grieve this loss. Know that Kailash Uncle is in the highest possible heavens with his benevolent guides and with Baba. Om Shanti.
Dearest Alka Auntie, Aarti, Pooja, Nidhi, and Seema, Please accept my deepest sympathies to you all. Growing up coming to your home every Thursday was not only spiritual devotion, but also felt like family, always being greeted by Kailask Uncle's warm smile. Tribute to Brother Kailash Nath Dhir: It is with deep reflection and heartfelt prayers that we acknowledge the sudden passing of our dear Brother Kailash Nath Dhir, President of the Sri Sathya Sai Baba Centre of London. His departure leaves a profound void in our Sai family in Canada and beyond. Brother Kailash was a devoted and steadfast servant of Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba and a pillar of strength within the Sai Organization. For decades, he exemplified the ideals of selfless service, humility, and unwavering dedication to Swami’s teachings. His life was a shining example of what it means to live as a true Sai sevak. Many in the Sai community will remember his tireless efforts in organizing retreats for Regions 1, 2, and 3. His artistic talents, expressed through thoughtfully designed banners, displays, and devotional settings - enriched countless spiritual gatherings and created uplifting environments that inspired all who attended. His energy, enthusiasm, and quiet efficiency were both admirable and deeply valued. Brother Kailash was also instrumental in supporting national initiatives, including the 2010 Canadian Pilgrimage to Prasanthi Nilayam and the first National Conference in 2014. He was always among the first to ask how he could assist SSSIO Canada, whether through organizational support, personal service, or financial contributions. His readiness to serve without hesitation reflected his profound love for Bhagawan and for the Sai family. Beyond his visible contributions, Brother Kailash was a compassionate philanthropist who gave silently and generously to those in need, both in Canada and in India. His kindness, sincerity, and humility touched many lives in ways known and unknown. Brother Kailash’s legacy is one of devotion in action. His life stands as a reminder that true spirituality is expressed through love, service, and dedication to a higher purpose. He will be dearly missed, yet his example will continue to inspire future generations of Sai devotees. We pray that Bhagawan Sri Sathya Sai Baba grants his noble soul eternal peace at His Lotus Feet and bestows strength, courage, and comfort upon Sister Nidhi and the entire family during this time.
